November 3, 20214 yr this get me thinking, since Kylie will release vinyls for her DISCO repack and I don't believe the brand new tracks were done 8 months ago They usually book time slots in advance though. So they might have had a release date for the album in mind and then booked for the vinyl to start printing a 2-3 months before - before the album was finalised?
November 3, 20214 yr The previous record holder was Coldplay’s Music Of The Spheres, which sold101,045 in its first seven days. The title will officially be Sheeran’s when Friday rolls around: his fourth full-length has 116,539 sales for the week so far, with 82,763 from physical. Curiously, downloads (17,898) account for more sales than streams (15,878), but Tuesday’s streaming data is yet to be counted. It remains to be seen just how far streaming can push the total sales figure for = by the end of the week. Behind Sheeran, Richard Ashcroft’s Acoustic Hymns - Vol 1 has 10,264 sales in the No.2 position, ahead of Elton John’s The Lockdown Sessions (7,389 sales) and the Spice Girls’ Spice (7,243 sales). The War On Drugs complete the Top 5 with I Don’t Live Here Anymore (5,404 sales). In the singles chart, Ed Sheeran’s customary dominance upon the release of an album is under threat. Adele’s current No.1 Easy On Me has 47,464 sales so far, while Sheeran’s Shivers has 47,479. It’s a slender lead, and another Sheeran track, Overpass Graffiti, could yet have a say in the final standings. It is currently at No.3 on 46,195 sales. Elton John and Dua Lipa’s Cold Heart (34,131 sales) and Sheeran’s Bad Habits (20,661 sales) complete the Top 5. Source MW
November 3, 20214 yr BTW, is this Christmas thread topic, its 18 pages long :o  I missed all the drama :drama:
November 3, 20214 yr Ed’s physical for ‘Overpass Grafetti’ must be selling ALOT to still be in the running then. Not huge for his album and the streaming sales are particularly low considering the Spotify and Apple charts are still dominated by tracks from the album. He should break 140k for the week which less face it is t too shabby but I thought he would break 200k this week. Also if his streams are relatively low he could be in for a drop next week. Impressed that Elton is set for another 10k this week!
November 3, 20214 yr Who do you guys predict will go to #1 this Friday? Gonna be very very close, but with Adele's physicals shipping I think it'll go to Easy On Me
November 3, 20214 yr Blimey, that’s the closest top 3 in the singles there’s been in a long while. Spice girls are holding up better than I thought they would, still think they’ll drop out the top 5 by Friday but hope they keep it. Ed could struggle 200k at this rate, Abba could well break his first week sales next week.
November 3, 20214 yr Surely if there is some streaming data missing, Ed could realistically be on 125-130k now, and with two days to go, he is probably most likely to send up somewhere between 160-170k? Or maybe I am completely wrong. It is obviously not the massive numbers some were predicting due to his past successes, but by any means they are still big numbers.
November 3, 20214 yr Ed not as high as I was hoping with the missing HMV day added. He looks to be on track for around 150-175k. Still very good numbers though! Adele closing the gap from more than 1k Monday to 15 copies today. I think she has this, especially with her physicals shipping now. The top 3 are so close though.

If he’s done 15k on streaming Fri - Monday, he’ll only do maximum 12.5k for the rest of the week. I’d say 140k is more likely in total.

November 3, 20214 yr Streaming data for yesterday should be missing so Adele has 2/3k lead. Physical release should help too Edited November 3, 20214 yr by sprock-93
November 3, 20214 yr It’s looking increasingly likely that Adele will remain #1 but Ed might clinch it, you never know. I said it must be very close.
November 3, 20214 yr Have to say Ed’s sales are underwhelming when you think a few people on her voted 300k or more, he will be lucky to hit 150k
November 3, 20214 yr Something odd about Ed’s chart positions today… 1,3,5 in Singles 1 in Albums 😀 However, he’ll probably do a Drake this week since Easy On Me physical sales have come out. #2, #3 and #5 in the singles and #1 in the albums.
