I remember with Evermore they were advertised as “machine signed” or something similar, so hopefully Taylor does actually sign the albums when they’re advertised as such. Although I agree that the sheer volume of Red cds that she must have signed is a little suspicious.

wow so close between Taylor and LM! I'm a huge fan of both artists and would be so happy to see either of them get the #1. I hope LM fight for it with new bundles etc!

I would believe it if it's few copies, thats doable

but Ed saying he signed 30000 singles, if someone believes that, you really have to be naive, thats physically impossible

I got lots of signed stuff, but it's personally signed, meeting the artist in the street, before a gig, or in a store gig,

and then asking for them to sign and also write your name and also something personal

that matters to me and thats real, not a fake Elton John signature like if he could sign more than 25 copies :D

Poor Rod, most of us on Buzzjack, if I remember correctly, thought he would be top 3.

As people have been discussing above I'm not sure what I think of signed merchandise (although obviously in person signings are different). I think a full signature on thousands and thousands of CDs are a bit of a stretch for one artist to do alone but I can believe something quicker and easier like initials.

For example I bought the Dermot Kennedy signed CD single for Better Days. A video showed him signing a stack of them but he was writing his full name on them all, while on the one I received it was just his initials. Granted it was only £1.99 but it still felt like a little misleading advertising!

How is a product being "machine signed" any extra incentive for a fan to buy? Surely you'd only want a signed version of something if you believed it was signed by the artist themselves? Or am I missing something?!

not sure where you saw that about evermore bc I definitely don't remember it saying "machine signed"

I’ve just checked and it says “digitally autographed” fan edition, so not “machine signed” but essentially the same thing.

No one would buy something advertised as machine signed

think you just dreamt that :D

Ah, that was a digital fan edition - different thing to the signed CDs which were the physical deluxe CD. You got me worried for a sec

Haha my bad - I thought it was odd at the time.

ABBA sales do seem to have slowed a bit more than I thought but hopefully they should still be good to do 50k+ second week - glad to see there is an actual battle for the #1 album this week. And fair play to Little Mix, that is higher sales than I expected from them. Taylor's are higher than I expected as of a few days ago as well but it makes more sense in the wake of how much better it's done on streaming than 'Fearless'.

IDLES doing well to be as high as #6 so far in such a competitive week!

actually very good in albums for IDLES and Damon Albarn in such a competitive week, didn't know neither of them had a new album out

still think it's a wasted opportunity for Taylor not to released a red vinyl x Red :D

Singles update added above... All Too Well is charting twice Lol

edit: and top 5 sales added

Heartbreak Anthem and Kiss My doesn't count as Little Mix songs? Because they have 5 songs on the singles chart

It counts to the lead artist's tally only (in this case, Galantis and Anne-Marie respectively)

'Shivers' closing the gap to 'Easy On Me' slightly, it's consistently outperforming at the weekend. Of course Adele will pull back ahead again for the rest of the week now.

'All Too Well' being uncombined is truly a joke but you do you OCC x

Hope thy fix it by Friday, the OCC just look stupid

if it were Ed, they would have fixed it in 3 nanoseconds :D

but Taylor's label probably won't ever even notice :D
