November 18, 20214 yr From what I can work out from today's midweek breakdown, Taylor added in another chunk of (presumably signed) CDs. She's on 67.6k now! Wowzers. And this with a re-recorded album. Red the original was her first #1 album in the U.K. I’m glad it looks like Red the recording isn’t going to break that run.
November 18, 20214 yr Wouldn’t Cut You Off have been a better choice to promote as a single? I think I said when I first heard it, if they'd released that instead of LSL and spun it as being about Jesy's departure it would've been an easy hit for them!
November 18, 20214 yr Taylor must have some sort of record amongst females now with #1 albums in a row. I know Madonna’s ahead overall but I don’t think she ever got 8 in a row did she? Taylor’s albums success she’s actually possibly able to break Madonna’s record overall with these re recodings and then her future studio albums she releases
November 18, 20214 yr I believe Taylor will now be tied 2nd with Kylie for female acts with most UK number one albums - still quite a bit behind Madonna but I’d imagine she’ll get there seeing as she somehow stills to be peaking so far into her career Edited November 18, 20214 yr by LMLou

Yeah that probably would have got them a bigger hit, drama sells and all that. Never mind the fact that it's actually a far better song than LSL.
November 18, 20214 yr Wouldn’t Cut You Off have been a better choice to promote as a single? Imho that is the better of the 2 No isnt bad but that is so much better but I'm not LM so not my choice
November 18, 20214 yr Although Kylie is still capable of doing it even further into her career so the bar might just keep on rising. I agree hun. I dont understand why an album that is not even that old is being recorded again. Is it because Tailer thinks the original is rubbish? What can be the other reasons? The album isnt from the 90s or early 00s. Do we think that fans will choose to listen to the oroginal or the remake later down the line? Just Carol Honey
November 18, 20214 yr Isn't sad that a big artist like Taylor needs to release so many different versions of the same song to get a #1, in 1 week only? I can accept 2-3 remix in the long run, but not in just 5 days. What a shame! It can get the #1 but it will drop hard in the next weeks.... Plenty of artists have done it why is it suddenly bad that Taylor's done it
November 18, 20214 yr Plenty of artists have done it why is it suddenly bad that Taylor's done it  I think a lot of artists do that these days hun, it helps a song that wouldnt normally be number 1. Releasing extra formats or remixes all in one week to boost it up. Happens with albums as well hun. Just Carol Honey
November 18, 20214 yr lol All Too Well TV has had 2 versions all week, with a new one added today thats not a multitude of versions, you better never check the number of versions released by BTS ;D
November 18, 20214 yr On tuesday she had 9k CDs total. And now it's 45.5k. So I'd say about 35k, given her normal CDs weren't selling too fast. but I mean, those 9K CDs were not from her store when the CDs from the stores are added now it should be both signed and non.signed
November 18, 20214 yr It's always embarrassing to release so many versions in a few days. It seems like you are asking for fan charity to help you to get the #1. It's not because of Taylor or Ed, but of course it results more embarrassing with such big acts! Edited November 18, 20214 yr by sprock-93
November 18, 20214 yr Plenty of artists have done it why is it suddenly bad that Taylor's done it  Because people are clearly fed up with these dirty tactics. They are not real number ones, they're fake. Watch what real sales are when Adele releases her album tomorrow.

November 18, 20214 yr Sam Fender has just posted about downloads from iTunes on insta as they are close to the Top 10 - come through with that debut Top 10 hit tomorrow :cheer:

To be fair, she's only got this week to do it thanks to the very competitive release schedule. This kind of thing has always gone on, wasn't their a lot of record executives basements with thousands of copies of the same album in the 70s and 80s. Moving over totally to streaming would probably give us a best representation of what's current - but looking at the streaming chart tells you why that's a stupid idea.
