So sold physical product is not a real sale in your eyes? Actual music people buy to support an artist they like and listen to?

If that’s your criteria, You must have had rage since at least the the 90s! You must have been annoyed with the charts for years!

A lot of download era charts are a good laugh to be fair.

Wouldn’t Cut You Off have been a better choice to promote as a single?

From what I can work out from today's midweek breakdown, Taylor added in another chunk of (presumably signed) CDs. She's on 67.6k now!

What checks and balances do the OCC make when sales reports from artist's web sites are sent in?

Do they just accept the sales figures from these web sites without verification?

Or perhaps each CD (30 thousand!) is scanned before it is dispatched?

Is there any mechanism in a HMV store (or similar) to prevent an employee scanning a CD album 10 times?

Or perhaps the sales can be tallied with the cash shown in the till?

Would it be possible for 4 or 5 posters on here to upload images of their Taylor CD to compare the signature for forgery?

Kylie at #10 is a few copies away from 10k, when was the last time the top 10 albums all did over 10k?

It happened twice last December:

10/12 | 10,447 | Shakin' Stevens - Singled Out

17/12 | 11,918 | Andrea Bocelli - Believe

Last time it happened outside of December was November 2018.

Little mix are 3.2k ahead of Ed, can they hold it?

Ed doesn't look like he is closing the gap fast enough and Little Mix will probably find last minute fake cassettes etc. so I think LM may hold onto #3 which would be a really respectable showing for them for such a hype vacuum of an era (it is coming at a time when 2 of the 3 members are quite rightfully focusing on other things so can't blame them for not pushing it very much and just relying on the multi formats).

Now I have said this they are definitely falling to #4.

Not specifically about Taylor but sales from artists websites do seem a little sus at times. There's the whole BTS fiasco in the US and other examples.

If somebody was regularly scanning through 10 copies of a CD at a HMV store but only giving the customer one copy and taking the money for one copy then that would be noticed very quickly.

but actually we don't know the % of signed/nonsigned from Taylor's store

the store is selling the regular nonsigned CD so don't get why we assume everything they report is signed?

personally the most weird store sale ever was Selena Gomez who sold 8K cassettes on her website

an artist with zero fanbase and never a big seller and did 50% of her sales on cassette, 1000% implausible

On tuesday she had 9k CDs total. And now it's 45.5k. So I'd say about 35k, given her normal CDs weren't selling too fast.

I really hope they can, it's shocking they've literally done nothing to help push sales this week apart from a crappy digital download.

Wow great to see the whole top 10 will easily surpass the 10k mark when a few weeks ago it was barely the number one, happy November people!!

But plausible in the fact the triple cassette pack was reduced to £10 with a signed art card which lead to me (and others) buying it.

And vinyls? Her website is also shipping the vinyls so they should be include in that amount of 45k

No vinyls are separated - she has done 6.8k of those

Isn't sad that a big artist like Taylor needs to release so many different versions of the same song to get a #1, in 1 week only?

I can accept 2-3 remix in the long run, but not in just 5 days. What a shame!

It can get the #1 but it will drop hard in the next weeks....

I mean it's never gonna get another chance to go to #1, why not shoot your shot?
