I agree my huns.

I heard that some of these artists use some auto pen things to sign the albums.

Is this true? You are not telling me somone signs over 400k albums by hand. 😂

Seems likely, as you say they are hardly gonna sit there and sign 400k albums by hand ffs.

Sounds to me like BlackNBlue has logged on to a few alias accounts to spread their disdain about this Taylor album release :')

Is Sheeran involved in dis?

^^ As long as they don’t do a Cardi B - flog 10000s of ‘hand signed’ vinyl and CDs and then don’t even bother with the auto pen part let alone actually signing them, they just printed her signature on the sleeve and didn’t even attempt to make it look real.

Or Lizzo - sold signed vinyl and CD but signed a bunch of clear stickers and slapped them on the cellophane wrapped items. Or Lady Gaga when everyone waited 9 months to get an ‘L’

From all the ones Taylor has sold so far nobody has called her out on socials for them being auto penned or fake from what I can see (admittedly I didn’t spend loads of time looking but people seem to accept they are legit).

I dont mind a bit of Taylor or a bit of LM but 30k signed CDs just in the UK is a reach. When does someone so busy have time to sign so many? I smell fish and my legs are not even open.

I’m f***ing howling.

I miss the days when the album number 1 sold 8k and then plummeted out of the charts behind 98 greatest hits compilations, Rumours and Mabel's 800 track album.

Don't worry, I'm sure they'll return after Christmas

In seriousness, in the days where 100k weekly album sales were still the norm rather than the exception, the likes of signed CDs and collectable extra formats would barely make a dent in the #1 race most weeks. It's something of a paradox that the decline of the album generally in relevance to the general public as a means of consumption, which has created this low sales environment, has in turn laid the ground for some of the most intense battles for #1 in recent memory which, if anything, have raised the public profile of the album chart.

Taylor had time to make two new albums and recreate two more in pretty much a year so she's clearly efficient. I imagine she signed 5 at once using both hands, feet and mouth.
Charts should only include: CD, vinyl, cassette, streaming.

It's the second fakest thing (after the airplay counting) if we talk about the methods of compiling music charts.

It is simply an iconic comment from the gospel of Carol.

um, so, anyway... looking forward to today's mids? :kink:

Music Week haven't posted any

I'm loving the entertainment on here!!

I personally have no issue with the signings etc. but it helps that I'm biased as I love Taylor. Just think it's incredible that she is having this success with an old album.
