George Ezra now showing just outside the top 100, at #105 on Amazon

I seem to remember the same thing happened with George’s last album. Don’t matter now was released a good 6-7 months ahead of the album and was very muted response wise, then paradise somehow took off when that came out.

Sure the new one won't peak in day 1 but I don't think it's gonna flop either

it will basically be a slow start cos it's not on HH

but it's a great song with lots of potential, but of course needs playlist support

Paradise also wasn’t an instant hit! I believe it debuted around #65 in the charts.

it debuted at #70 and didn't reach the top 40 until its 6th week on chart, peaking at #2 after 10 weeks and then spending a total of 53 weeks in the chart, with 23 of them being in the top 40.

EDIT: And shotgun didn't reach the top 40 until 10 weeks into its chart run, so a lot of his songs seem to be slow climbers! Hopefully this one continues that streak!

Shotgun started slow cos it was released when Paradise was peaking, but at least Shotgun already debuted top 40

2 of yesteday's releases make the top 50

24. Central Cee - Cold Shoulder

29. Charli XCX feat. Rina Sawayama - Beg For You

That's a great result for Charli/Rina!

Chainsmokers top 50 global.

Edited by omrimayo

Chainsmokers nowhere near the top 200 in the UK US or Global, one of those acts that not allowed to take breaks cuz when they return... no one cares.

They're at #24 in the US, #159 in the UK & #44 on the Global chart.

I can't imagine they'll last longer than a day in the UK at least.
