Summarising the minor scoreboard changes:

 

- République d'Áskorza moving up a place to 14th swapping with Jupiterdonia (Jupiterdonia losing 6 points)

- Lotunia moving up from 23rd to 17th (gaining 6 points)

- Jadakissnia moving down 2 places to 19th (losing 1 point) - sawry :'(

- Danæviia/Wholune/Rolloland/Utopia moving down 1 place each to 20th-23rd

- Taahino gaining 6 points, FSR Rontvia and N DNTN each gaining 1 point and FARC losing 6 points, not affecting any positions

 

My original scoreboard had one other difference in it which turned out to be my own error just to keep myself humble here xx But yes, the above should all be correct now.

 

So after being stuck on just Mdiče, FSR Rontvia and Aquafina for years, the list of countries to achieve back-to-back wins has grown by 2 over just the last year with FARC and now Altyr Muunilinst added - both legendary nations well worthy of a spot on that list so cannot complain! I enjoyed 'dying on the inside' more than the previous Altyr winner so although it's another winner I didn't vote for it's still solid enough, and definitely better than what came 2nd.

 

So close for Terra Avium yet again but I suppose for Chez's sanity it is better to be 3rd than 2nd :lol: That ending up being one of only 3 songs in the top 10 I voted for along with Kathaldazia and New Lexico - did not think Skin On Skin would do as well as 4th but I guess Kath does have a good record with techno entries, happy to see it! And pleased that Fear Of Tigers did indeed make a strong comeback among the later voters even if not quite ending up as a winner contender. The rest of the top 10 is, much like last month, mostly not really for me (only Aeroche also being a commiseration) but it's an improvement from not voting for any of the top 10 last time at least! :lol: Aw at Cumulonimbia just missing out on being another one of my big faves making the top 10, 11th is pretty good though (I think that's very similar to the pre-deduction result for Bad Gyal which this entry reminded me a lot of so makes sense!)

 

A few more of my faves showing up in the lower end of the top 20, would have liked to see better results for Lotunia and Jadakissnia (+ was definitely predicting a better result for Danæviia oops!) but not too terrible. 23rd seems like a great showing for Utopia after how badly all the other rock entries did this month though! Also quite disappointing results for Fljótavík and Scherzland and although I didn't vote for it Dobago certainly didn't deserve to be last aw.

 

Exactly one year ago Altyr were hosting, I sent a foreign language song that I'd had as a potential off and on for years, and came 33rd. History exactly repeating itself now. :cheeseblock: The reveal order took me on a bit of a ride with me being in the top 20 for a while before a massive drought but at the end of the day I said I'd be happy enough if I avoided the bottom 5 and I have in the end so I cannot complain too much, should be back to finding something actually new to send next time! (And I only need one more qualifier to match my longest Q streak to date so the pressure is on...) Thanks to those who voted for RVKDTR anyhoo, happy to have got a few medal positions here and there and a few unexpected voters!

Congrats again John! Hendinia was my 18 but I do recall bumping Altyr up a couple places in my votes after my final listen-through, that definitely could've gone either way! Looks like I voted for 5 of the top 10, especially pleased to see KlumRep as one of those.

 

I won't quite call this a second hit for FK&C but I'm always happy to squeak into the final. I was counting on Niceland points so thank you Pete for following through :D Honestly pretty surprised to see Persephonia, Aquafina and especially Hushkanukia in the bottom 10 with me, justice for all of them next month please.

Congratulations John, that's a strong pop winner and while not on my radar as a possible one, more so than Hendinia too - though 'Shockwave' was quite nice also. Shame that 'A Million Voices' came so close, that was a towering triumph of a discovery and a good reminder that I do need to keep up with what Thomas Bergersen releases, damnit.

 

'Die In The Disco' and 'Piscis' doing really well is also great to see.

Great contest, so many great tracks to vote for reflected in the closeness where any of us could have changed results with a drop or climb of a couple of places. Thanks John for hosting, very smooth, congrats for winning, very good entry, and a shame Dolores Forever fell short of the top 10, but prob my fave of the contest in a close contest. I bought 7 of the entries this month and they are duly inside my personal charts, so thanks for the good taste all! :yahoo:

Thank you to all the votes for Zanmatony this month, managing to get us another unique final position of #30 which is better than last time round and an improvement overall in total points received. Thanks in particular to Aquafina for the maximum points. If my current trajectory is anything to go by in 2022 then I’m definitely hoping to manage another more improved Top 30 finish in BJSC 144. :lol:

Peach PRC has been entered 3 times in the last year and all 3 have qualified but then finished in the bottom 10 ('Josh' 32nd in BJSC 135 and 'Heavy' 39th in BJSC 141) - nailing the formula of songs people like just enough to keep sending and qualifying but no more than that :kink:
