Has Sash! spent the most weeks at #2 in total without making #1 (as well as having the most #2 hits without making #1)?
They only did six weeks at #2 across those 5 songs so they get beat by All-4-One whose 'I Swear' did 7 weeks at #2. Not sure if that is the record though.
Common People is the first to come to mind... although Wonderwall and Love The Way You Lie are close behind it
Nat King Cole has had 9 weeks at #2 across three songs - that is still the record. Rag 'N' Bone Man is on 8 weeks (along with Frank Chacksfield), so he could overtake, as could DJ Snake and The Kid Laroi who are both on 7 weeks.
"Adelante" is a track that I never appreciated at the time but it's just beautiful and cinematic when I heard it recently.

Sash! would’ve had two #1s if Biggie and Di never died in 1997

Better In Time by Leona

It was released as a double A-side yet the sales of each song were split?

Confide in me by Kylie Minogue. Such a strong comeback song which truly deserved to dislodge the Wets after their 15 week run at no1. Unfortunately, the awful Whigfield did it instead.

Go West by Pet Shop Boys blocked off by Culture Beat and Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince in 1993. Huge fan of that band.

Kobbar certainly had something to say about that.

guess it's cos in the digital era, the 2 songs are available separately not together

^Thats true, and in the 90s release it was beaten by The Simpsons - Do the Bartman

one of the worst #1s un history :/

I'd actually say Pogues/Kirsty MacColl "Fariytale of New York" has a valid case - NINE seperate runs in the top 10 but hasn't quite clinched no.1. It was the most popular legacy Christmas song in the download era usually outpeaking Mariah but sadly not quite as big on streaming as her or Wham nowadays. Unlikely to change in the future, although getting to no.4 for the last 3 consecutive years is mightily impressive. Especially with that controversy over the "f" word which I would have thought has done the song more harm than good.
If you count its two runs in the Top 10 in 2018 when it went 10-11-4, that's TEN runs, with peak positions of: #2, #3, #6, #4, #5, #10, #4, #4, #4, #4.
This is the only correct answer

Okay, off-topic but when was the title changed from 'You Bring Me Joy' to 'Bring Me Joy'?
