Ed Sheeran famously invented releasing remixes

He released over 1000 versions of Perfect to get Xmas #1 in 2017. The remix of "Go" is much better than the original

To be honest the Loski & Russ Millions remix of Go is not even doing that great streaming (audio and video) wise. And I can't imagine it'd be doing great on pure sales (downloads). Maybe it'll pick up during the week and help Cat reach Number 1.

Great start for Tion Wayne and La Roux. Hopefully it can stay in the top 20 by the end of the week.

She released it to try and aim for #1

That's what people normally do if they want the #1 spot, you can't compare Cat with Ed Sheeran. Does it really matter??

IFTK needs to go higher. And the remix of "Go" should be credited as Loski & Russ Millions. You only hear them sample Cat’s chorus. If she wants to aim for #1, this week will more likely be her only chance because even if she does get #1, Harry’s album is out on Friday and will more likely send him back to #1

I do agree that the remix does pretty much sound like a different song, but alas it’s billed as a remix with Cat Burns as the lead artist.

Cat Burns has no chance at #1, just look at the streaming figures lol

2K lead after 1 day of streams means 15K lead come Friday for Harry lol

The problem is desperation

What a terrible thing for a new artist to do - promote their song and release remixes when it’s close to #1.

Someone call the Police :drama:

Friday it was Cat who stopped Lizzo from going top 3, this Friday, it will be Kendrick stopping Lizzo going top 3
She will overtake Kendrick. If anyone blocks her from top 3 (this week) it'll be Sam Ryder.
thanks for letting me know!

It’s near the end of a long album!

Ah I see your real motivation now  Lizzo is doing brilliantly and will likely be top 2 or even no1 before the end of June. The fact ‘Go’ is so close to Harry on Sunday just shows that sales for the no1 are going to be lower than 50k potentially so it’s more likely Sam or Kendrick will jump ahead depending on if they can keep up the current pace.

Hardly desperate to be no1 it’s her first ever chart entry from a new artist and a song that has naturally grown with support over the past 3 months and clearly impacted with the public, the definition of a hit.

I would love it if Go went to #1. I don't know why the Goddard remix is so popular (I've tried to research why and I haven't found anything except people saying they've heard it on the radio) but it's great and I love it so I don't care.
Only plus side harry stay number 1 hopefully knock we don’t talk about bruno end of the year singles chart number 1

The OCC have given us a sneak preview of tonight's midweek chart.

Sam Ryder up to number 3 just 340 sales behind Cat Burns at number 2.

I wonder if he can take the #1

I'd be here Sam getting #1 as Harry has been there long enough (will return to it the week after anyway with the album out) so a change would be welcome although it'll depend on how he does throughout the week. The fact Spotify have Sam so high on HH is encouraging though.

From the OCC 16/5/22

Following his second place finish at Saturday's Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Sam has the entire country behind him, and Official Charts Company data now sees SPACE MAN rocket up even further, smashing into the Top 5 and currently placing at Number 3.

SPACE MAN is already the most-downloaded song of the week in the UK so far, and it's current midweek chart position is yet to reflect a large proportion of post-Eurovision streams...which means that you could expect the song to rise further still overnight.

Just 340 chart sales separate Sam at Number 3 from Cat Burns and Go at Number 2. A Top 5 finish for the track seems assured, but if Sam does want to challenge for that Number 1 spot, he will have to sustain his current momentum.
