I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point. Jeremy CHunt's flawless record as Health Sec has my every confidence, not that I imagine he'll be there more than a couple of weeks!

 

I'd believe that Truss is secretly a mole sent to destroy the party if she calls an election, though one really does need to happen as she clearly isn't lasting past Christmas at this stage.

 

 

This is almost like some sort of weird dream. Like, we all knew Truss would be bad but who actually thought it would unravel so quickly?

I'm hoping all this chaos will end up with Liz calling a general election in the next 6 months. Goodness knows what things are going to look like this winter.

It is interesting to see who really runs the country - not the elected politicans but the markets as Tony Benn always said!

The date of the coronation almost certainly rules out a May 2023 general election (unless they delay the local elections by a couple weeks and hope the coronation works in their favour).

June would be good, coronation probably works in favour of the sitting government tho!

Yeah the noise is not good and does seem as if Hunt is running the show at the moment and is almost an interim leader. I reckon there's a big reshuffle coming or Truss loses her hand and resigns. Thought she might play her hand and call an election, but I think she knows she would get battered and nobody wants Trussnomics.

Would love for her family to go full on unhinged and call an election.

So Prime Minister Hunt undid all of the mini budget as he bowed down to the markets and did what he was told!

Liz Truss is basically not in charge anymore. They have passed the power over to Hunt, without the clownshow of a second leqdership run in the space of a few weeks.

 

But my GOD at his austerity mk.2 budget, with them removing the energy price cap next year, and removing the help for heating!

I hope Liz ends up imploding and calls an election to spite all those against her. Hunt's budget U-turns and austerity part 2 isn't something to look forward to. :(

Can only assume she will resign this week or is PM in name only and Hunt is running the show in the interim.

Hunt is 100% the interim PM right now. I thibk the vile Tory MPs are dine with this, having Liz Truss as PM in name only, as they have ALWAYS held us in contempt. For most of Blojo's reign of terroe, Cummings was basically in charge, too, as Blojonpartied and did naff all. They have form for this.
