Breathe is my fave single by far and ranks very high on my overall Kylie songs and i think the song has huge potential to be remixed and released with kylie as a feature by some current dance artist.

I’ve never considered that but I think you might be right. With the right DJ or dance artist it’s the typ of song that I think would do very well. In fact I think any of the first three singles could have a chance if done properly.

When I first heard it, I thought it was quite a risky first single choice and completely different to anything else she had done. However, I was shocked when it didn’t make T20 as expected it to at least go T10 in the first week.

Im not sure if it would work for Some kind of bliss, could do for did it again but a def yes for breathe.

Let's just hope Kygo or someone like that isn't reading this and gets ideas. 😬

This and if you are reading this Kygo then nobody wants it

Can anyone recall what 90s film was a reference for SKOB video….Kylie mentioned it in an interview at the time. Just can’t recall it exactly though leaning towards True Romance….it was in response to the confusing narrative of the video.

Kygo and a Kylie track inwould welcome!!

The only good here is Kylie went on to have loads more hits and more than most of them above her but it was a serious underperformance at that time.

Some of the songs are but Some Kind of Bliss is also greater than a few of them.
Jaydee is a classic dance anthem and I can at least appreciate the Ricky Martin song had relevance at the time, even though I'd never personally give it the time of day.

These are all either better than, objectively more popular for the time period or huge selling things that deserved to be ahead...

So I'd only have the single peaking at #17 by that measure, clearly a really bad choice of release week. Presumably Kylie's die hard fanbase didn't care for it as they clearly weren't out to support it, her casual fans would have been potentially put off by the indie sound whilst also likely to have been distracted by the hysteria over Princess Diana's death

They made the mistake of releasing only one CD and went with a 7” vinyl that was limited to 4,000 and incredibly difficult to track down and wasn’t a sought after/cool format.

They returned to the CD1 and CD2 releases for DIA and Breathe - having a 7” for SKOB over a CD2 really didn’t help it, I’m sure it would have gone Top 20 if there were 2 CD versions which was the norm for the time.

Didn’t Where is the Feeling only get one CD too? I guess two underperforming singles on the trot made them realise the importance of them.

A lot of the songs had been in the charts for many weeks that are above SKOB.

Miss those days of charts tbh! Some classics there that are still big today.

Spinning Around was the first Kylie song I ever heard, so I completely missed this a few years before when it was released (I was only 6 at the time of release and while I knew a lot of songs that were around back then on the music channels, I don't think this got a wide release over here) and I only heard this for a the first time a few years ago but I absolutely love it. Definitely a very different direction for her and can see why people where maybe a bit confused. At the same time, it's still pretty poppy and seems very radio friendly so the fact it only managed #22 is very unfortunate.
