October 25, 20223 yr Truly hope Kylie can keep the top 5! She re-release all her old albums on vinyl, she could potentially re-peak Rhythm of love and surely Lets get to it... I’m sure others could achieve it - LGI is not held in high regard by the majority of the fanbase but we’ll snap up anything thrown at us :kink: I think the IP release and result is unique as so many people have wanted it for so long and it’s always way up there on peoples favourite Kylie albums list.
October 25, 20223 yr shocking sales.... reminded me of the 2006 album chart battle where Westlife beaten Oasis,U2 and the Beatles.... but that was like 16 years ago....

I have to disagree, I think if she released a vinyl / CD combo for Let's get to it in a quiet week she could easily outpeak the original #15 position for it. Some weeks you can get a top 10 with like 3,000 copies nowadays. I have to say I am SO tempted by that Kylie Impossible Princess vinyl myself it looks stunning, but then I'd like to own all of her albums on vinyl

I think a stand-alone vinyl would return it to the charts but maybe at the same levels we saw for the vinyl re-issues of Light Years, Fever & KM94. And grab one of the vinyl - they are all stunning.

Overall CD sales were still generally much higher in 2015 so it was harder for a vinyl reissue to chart higher….that said Impossible Princess has sold much more, the vinyl format has continued to grow, there’s better choice and it’s been crying out for it given it is a hardcore fan fave. Taylor Swift and Arctic Monkeys selling so many physical copies this week and Taylor’s vinyl is plus £30…very impressive...be very interesting to see the physical sales breakdown. I said it last year that I thought Adele’s vinyl album stock was too ambitious because casual fans are far less likely to buy a vinyl…they’ll just stream these days….but Taylor and Arctic have far bigger stanbases who’ll spend cash. October 25, 20223 yr I think the IP release and result is unique as so many people have wanted it for so long and it’s always way up there on peoples favourite Kylie albums list. I never understood this view, I do enjoy the singles from it but for me it's still her worst album (well, maybe with the exception of 'Body Language')

October 25, 20223 yr I do understand why people may not like or have liked Impossible Princess but for myself i have always enjoyed it and its up with some of kylies best albums, its an album that takes a few listens to really get into. From the singles breathe for me is one of her best ever singles.
October 25, 20223 yr There is no way Sigala will hang onto #39 the streaming numbers are sadly just not there and (as usual) none of them are promoting it.
October 25, 20223 yr I never understood this view, I do enjoy the singles from it but for me it's still her worst album (well, maybe with the exception of 'Body Language') For me it's probably her only album that doesn't have at least one 'skip' on it, everything's at least a 7.
October 25, 20223 yr Quite shocked that AM have only had 1 top 10 single since 2007. I know they're obviously much more an albums act but you'd think at least a few songs would have sneaked a week top 10 on previous album releases...

I know they're obviously much more an albums act but you'd think at least a few songs would have sneaked a week top 10 on previous album releases... Do I Wanna Know was very unlucky to miss the top 10 though, it entered at #11 and went on to have a long chart run (if streams had been included in the chart earlier it probably would have made it eventually considering it peaked at #4 in the streaming chart while it was #14 officially on the week they released the album), and finished in the top 100 songs of the entire decade!
October 25, 20223 yr I never understood this view, I do enjoy the singles from it but for me it's still her worst album (well, maybe with the exception of 'Body Language') Agree , i adore Some Kind of Bliss, and its my fave Kylie song and i think it was criminally underrated, but the album as a whole is not her best musically, but probably her best lyrically… hopefully it could repeak though, they chose the wrong week to release it though…

'Drunk' is the one which I think I find almost unlistenable, a real blip in her otherwise stellar discography for me. Despite that though I would love to see it repeak!

It was also a mid-week release for that matter, which is why "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?" with a full first week charted higher.
October 25, 20223 yr It was also a mid-week release for that matter, which is why "Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?" with a full first week charted higher. Ah yes, I forgot that it came out on Wednesday!
October 25, 20223 yr Do I Wanna Know was ROBBED of top 10. In fact robbed of #1 frankly. I was hopeful they might get another top 10 out of this era, but given its not a mainstream sound, I think the success they have had is phenomenal.
October 25, 20223 yr Ah but we can thank Do I Wanna Know only making #11 for a certain other classic sneaking in at #10 in the same week!
October 25, 20223 yr An extremely niche observation but that surely must be the only time that two songs peaked at #10 and #11 in the same week and both went on to be enduring classics. (I had forgotten DIWK? was a midweek release!)
