Its Snatch Game! Danny's 4th win incoming?

I wouldn't be surprised, I can't see her having the Lawrence/Tia/Choriza problem of being a funny/comedy/charismatic queen who can't be someone else as she's smashed both improv and a Rusical at this point.

 

Some characters seem to be

Cheddar as Elizabeth the First, Jonbers as Saint Patrick, Le Fil as Marie Kondo and Dakota as Pete Burns

 

 

 

That was the worst snatch game I've seen I think, even the recent US one was marginally better. I even found the highs of Cheddar and Jonbers very one note and childish.

 

I also thought Le Fil ate that lip sync up and won! I kind of felt Peppa was doing a bit too much for a Spice Girls song lmao, but I still love her so I'm happy she's still in the competition.

My least favourite episode so far. Cheddar was the clear winner and Jonbers did well too. Was surprised how well Dakota did. If there was a bottom 4 I would've put Danny in it - that Cilla Black was an incoherent mess.

 

I thought the runway was really strong. Cheddar looked great, I loved Le Fil's tent look and Pixie's look is her best so far. Loved the candy floss in Black Peppa's wig too!

 

The Black Peppa vs Le Fil lip sync was a little messy? I thought Le Fil started off really strong, but when she removed her shoes for that reveal I knew she lost. If she kept her shoes on I think she would've won. Black Peppa did a bit too much for the song and I couldn't really see her lip sync properly most of the time.

 

Shame to see Le Fil go, but I think it was her time. I hope we'll see her an all stars or vs the world series someday as I love her point of view for the runways.

Agreed with most of the comments here. The Snatch Game is clearly between Cheddar Gorgeous and Jonbers Blond. I will put Dakota Schiffer as HIGH too but she just got pipped in the end. I agreed with the bottom 3 and hence the bottom 2. Really thought Black Peppa was going home and she was doing a bit too much with the lip sync. Le Fil started really good but she faded away when she started to shed away stuff unnecessarily :kink:

 

Still think this episode is better than episode 2 though. I especially loved Cheddar Gorgeous giving us a good education about the HIV history and the ignorance by the government in the 80s. The runway lewk teared me up. It was great execution and Copper Top could never! It was clearly Cheddar Gorgeous night for me. Well done!

Yeah I agree that was a really bad Snatch Game, I only really liked Cheddar and Dakota. I thought Saint Patty was a bit cringe and very one note, but I'm never toooo keen on historical characters like that. To me that's not *really* Snatch Game, because you're basically making up a character as if it's another improv challenge. Cheddar I think approached it in a really great way, because it was rooted in history and kept alluding to that while keeping it funny. Maybe that's just how Snatch Game is evolving, but if it's gonna be this bad every time and the saving grace is a historical character with made up traits, there's no point in it being a challenge which is a shame as it's usual my fave challenge every season. Dakota was by no means a winning Snatch Game, but she was the only one who did a decent impression of a "proper" celebrity out of the rest of the queens.

 

Cheddar is an absolute class act and STAR though, what a week for her with the runway and really intelligently expressing the Act Up story and why it's import to have conversations about HIV on a platform like this.

 

The lipsync was a mess too :( I thought those two together would be gold but both did a bit too much, I think I would have given the win to Le Fil just on the lipsync but it was definitely her time to go sadly and I wouldn't have wanted to lose Black Peppa either.

That Snatch Game really irked me. Tess Daley looked as thought she has no idea what was going on the whole time. I am annoyed that in pervious seasons they’ve stopped queens from doing a character, yet Ru made Jonbers do one? I was really looking forward to seeing Enya.

 

The lip sync was messy. I do think Le Fil did a better job and had been quite underrated this season? Her runways have been so fab and she hasn’t been a disaster in the challenges. I really didn’t like Pixie’s 48 accents in snatch game and kind of laughed at her having a similar runway to Tia Kofi’s Rumix look. 😂

Yeah I doubt thats going to go down as a Classic Snatch Game. Chedder and Jonbers were the 2 clear standouts. Dakota was a surprise actually and managed to land a few of her jokes.

 

I thought Pixie did better than Danny - not all of what Pixie did worked, and she was clearly in her head. But Danny was a mess as Cilla - there were no jokes and its was incoherent most of the time

 

The bottom 2 were fairly obvious as well. The lip sync was messy and desperate. Le Fil started off well, but you know things are bad when you take off most of your clothes. The shoes coming off etc just took way too long, for not much of a reveal.

 

 

Not sure I can see Peppa winning any more. She's too green. I thought the first lipsync mightve been a fluke but her timing was off in this one too; yes she has the tricks but she didn't have them on-rhythm, it was just a bit throwing everything at the wall.

 

Le Fil lost when she took the shoes off though. You could see Ru's face just drop. She was holding her own up to there I think

Also as an Irish person Jonbers was very cringe. She was railroaded into it though because going against Ru is verboten if you want to do well in this show. I do think she's funny and actually quite likeable too however she is not the fashion queen she sells herself as. Good to watch her grow every week.

 

Also I agree with others of you, Dakota was a clear HIGH for me here with Danny quite cleanly streets behind her; however she did have the dusadvantage of changing away from her prepared character. On that note I found Baga's advice very disingenuous: "just have fun?" Ok sweetie you clearly prepared your socks off for those characters though so really that's what helped you isn't it.

 

Also what struck me as interesting was everyone's reaction to Lil Nas X lets us pinpoint this must have been filmed about 18 months ago, because they were still treating him like a mysterious one hit wonder, not pop boy supreme who brought us Montero & Industry Baby! Unfortunate timing really :o

In terms of impressing Ru and keeping herself safe, Jonbers definitely did the right thing by going along with what she was told to do. "Saint Patty" obviously isn't real and all she had to do was lean into Irish stereotypes to get Ru's laughs, which infuriated me a bit. Nothing against Jonbers for this because she's talented and lovely. It really was a case of doing what she needed to do, I respect that - and she was quick on her feet. However, no impersonation skills were required, which didn't really have her on a level playing field with what the others were doing.

 

At least the others tried (and mostly failed) with actual celebrities or known figures. I actually found Dakota to be the best of them all? Cheddar behind her, though she didn't make me laugh. Bless Le Fil, her Marie Kondo seemed quite accurate, but there just wasn't material for laughs in that setting. I'm not convinced even if she'd done Victoria Beckham that Le Fil would have been able to bring out something funny.

 

I wish either Alan or Graham hosted Snatch Game instead of Ru. Ru's knowledge of UK culture is quite weak, which was very clear regarding the total disinterest in Danny wanting to be Louis Walsh. Danny obviously played it safe by going with Cilla in the end, but I think she was so thrown by needing to change, and clearly not passionate about being Cilla, to the extent that she just couldn't rise to the challenge. I wish Ru wasn't so discouraging and I wish he didn't interfere in the work room. I know the whole concept of the show is to impress Ru but he should let them go with the characters they've chosen. He might find himself to be pleasantly surprised.

 

I lean towards Le Fil outdoing Black Peppa in every respect in that episode - Snatch Game, Runway and Lip sync, although that's not to say Black Peppa did badly at the runway or lip sync, she was very good. I think Le Fil should have left her shoes on though. :kink: I feel that Le Fil has been pretty overlooked throughout the season. She had such a hard job to do in the previous week's Rusical, that was a very wordy number she did, and I thought she nailed it and gave it gusto. Yet the judges weren't overly impressed? They had more praise for Pixie Polite but in my opinion she wasn't as good in that challenge. Le Fil was really good natured and sweet throughout the whole season, I'll miss her. :heart:

 

I do like Black Peppa and I'm rooting for her to step it up. She's got it, I see her self belief wavering in the last couple of episodes. I hope now she's been saved she really shines next week.

Yeah Ru definitely ruins Snatch Game, I feel with UK and Australia as well, you don’t get a sense of that country’s culture as much as you should because people kind of have to do an international celebrity or something stupid Ru will cackle at. Imagine we could have Snatch Games of Nadine Coyle, Nikki Grahame or Deirdre Barlow, or Julia Morris or Sophie Monk!

 

I think Enya would have been hysterical tbh, I wish Jonbers had just done her as I think just going fully mental with Enya would have been way more funny than just Irish stereotypes.

Ye, everytime Ru compliments her and then they zoom in I wonder if Ru needs to get his eyes tested. :lol:

 

It's likely a stage lighting in real life vs on TV thing. Ru and the judges are looking fairly far from the stage too, whereas we get the full camera zoom in.

 

 

Ru remains the worst thing about Snatch Game — I can’t believe he essentially told Jonbers to be an Irish caricature because he clearly doesn’t know any Irish celebrities or characters. Mess.

 

Dakota seemed a little robbed and purposefully edited around — I feel like the producers/judges didn’t really understand the gold they struck with her and how much the fanbase would love her.

Can’t believe that Dakota and Danny were both in the same category... safe. Danny was bottom 3 material and Dakota - top 3. Stupid.

 

I don’t understand why Rupaul gives the queens ideas and completely new characters. Such obvious manipulation to make snatch game more relatable to US viewers I guess? :/

i thought Danny was great as Cilla but didn't have much screen time... they were obviously milking Queen Elizabeth and Saint Patty. I thought Patty was dreadful and a wasted opportunity.
