He was seen as sensible until this.

To think people complained about The X Factor getting it for four years in a row.

At least they were different songs by different artists.

For me, the sausage roll thing wore thin after the second year.

There's obviously the wider thing as to why they're making out this is the only way that money can be raised for charity.

Its actually pathetic, I've hated this shit since the first year he did it, its nothing but a publicity stunt also I find it very embarrassing that they're doing all this just to be Tory supporters and he cheated on his wife too and they're playing happy families
Is this corroborated?

It's not unreasonable to be a bit annoyed that the once-coveted Christmas number 1 has got so irrelevant that a millionaire can make the same joke over and over under the guise of charity to avoid criticism and not be challenged. It was once a fun aspect of British culture and I'm quite sad this has killed it.

But the main reason I do think this is worth ire is that we're in a dire situation and his shtick empowers the status quo and is ultimately ineffective in the long run, he'll be back next year doing the exact same thing and the circumstances won't have changed.

This was on the bbc lunchtime news today so giving it great promo!
Kinda stanning the idea of Martin Lewis on a single, but otherwise, no xx

Amazingly, it wouldn’t be his first appearance on a top 40 single - he was featured in “I Fought the Lloyds” by Oystar, which reached #25 in 2008.

When Mark and Roxanne (LadBaby) contacted me out-of-the-blue to ask if I’d join them in Food Aid I thought they’d confused me with someone else. The nearest I’ve ever got to thinking about a Christmas number one is going to the loo on Boxing Day after too much orange juice the day before. Yet once I knew they were serious, and it was for the Trussell Trust, a hugely important charity I’ve a history with, I decided to give it a go, and do it with gusto.

This has been a tough year for many, prices have rocketed. Advice charities and food banks are swamped. Deficit budgeting is becoming more common – meaning even after everything has been cut to the bone – people still have less income than expenditure. It’s going to be a tough winter, and things aren’t likely to ease much in 2023. So the need to help and support people struggling across the UK is profound. Hopefully this Ladbaby song and their lyrics will raise some cash and awareness.

Is this finally addressing the accusations that the LadBaby project is too apolitical?

No doubt this will be another dreadful sounding song but at least it’s for a good cause.
So will ‘Do they know it’s Christmas’ be no1 two years out of the next 3 if the 40th anniversary one comes out in 2024?
Sidemen already have more streams for their lead Christmas single than LadBaby has managed for any of his (apart from last year's one that has help from being in Ed Sheeran/Elton John playlists). It's also currently climbing the official chart organically, even before Christmas number 1 week. I really hope either them or The Kunts can blow LadBaby out of the water.

Possibly, depends if they bother in 2024 though.

I didn’t think they’d bother in 2014 😅 but then it didn’t get Xmas no1!
Surely I'm missing something and still something to be announced but surely you can't have a cover of band aid with only 3 people
