Pleasantly surprised that 'Run This Town' is one of the highest Rihanna entries!

I always loved ‘Run This Town’ when it came out even though some looked at it as a non-number one!

Run This Town didn't really sound like a 2009 #1 and it was a huge collaboration at the time and also the first Rihanna song in a while, so people possibly thought it was a fluke that it got to #1. And then it just got overshadowed by Empire State of Mind.

 

But I remember the music video was controversial because it had a lot of illuminati symbolism in it. It's a staple of conspiracy theory documentaries even today because of that. And the music video got deleted off YouTube for ages (maybe it still is), but I don't know if there's any connection there or if it was taken down for an unrelated reason.
