Seems publications like the Torygraph and the Daily Mail have jumped on her for comments she's made about the Tories and Boris Johnson - even though everything she has said is actually correct and she made some good valid points, but nevermind!

I’ve been chuckling whilst rolling my eyes all day at British right wing Twitter saying things like “well, she’s lost my vote”.

WELL, Derek, if you had even the slightest bit of interest in Eurovision in the first place, then you’d know we can’t vote for one another ANYWAY.

Rooting for her more now tbh

She has been fun on social media as well. Just a shame about the song. x

she's literally me

loling at the Telegraph acting as if they've got an exclusive when they've just dug up some old tweets and instigated harassment, losers

That’s the second best Loreen related video of the day for me, after this one of autotune being left on on her mic while speaking to the crowd:

@1644855478025875458

sorry but this is awful sung, once again she proved she cant sing.

What on earth was that attempted high note?!

It’s not the worst live vocal but the studio is quite evidently Autotuned to death

This just goes to show you how an otherwise decent pop star might not hack it in Eurovision due to their demand of a live vocal.

Hopefully it can only get better from here, but I'd recommend them to get backing singers to stabilise her live vocal.

I think it will sound fuller at Eurovision, with backing vocals and maybe even the 'da da da da da da' bit still on the backing track?

She sounded great when I saw her live a few years back, so she definitely can sing well on a good day. I think I'd definitely leave out that high note though, it's not massively necessary on the song and she's struggling with it.

Hmm... It started badly, got better and then she got to the high note and realised how bad it was going and told everyone to "jump, jump, jump" instead.

The bad bits were when she was trying to dance at the same time, which I think it probably difficult for even a seasoned pop star without some good backing vocals to help them along.

Oh dear god.. these vocals are truly shocking.

No way are we getting anywhere near left side. I think it could be between us and Poland for last place at this rate, unless something drastic happens vocally between now and May.

It'd be a shame if they can't pull it together for Eurovision really - I've heard it a few times on the radio, which I didn't for Space Man at this point, so it does feel like there's a momentum of good-will going. But yeah, they have to figure something out if she can't keep up with dancing and singing at the same time.

what you mean figure out??? will you be ok with them hiding the fact she cant sing? are you ok faking the competition? that wouldnt be fair for those who can really sing and still have to go throught semis, while UK goes straight to the final with someone that cant sing.

There is but in the UK it's because of Sam and more importantly he gained substantial goodwill outside the UK while the UK press were telling people the odds were biased and overhyped. His momentum increased every time he performed Space Man because he could actually sing the song and foreigners adored him. I hope they have a backup plan as I genuinely don't see the UK supporting Mae if she does badly.

It's hard because Eurovision is about staging and performance as much as the song.

I would say if she had twice as many dancers, with some kind of inventive staging, she could get away with just strutting around the stage a bit and being able to concentrate on the vocals.

As I said before, some decent backing vocals will help.
