March 16, 20232 yr I couldn't remember Bigger Than Us by Michael Rice, so I had a listen and wondered why everyone was saying it was so bad... it appeared to be a bit of a bop to me... Then realised I was listening to the 7th Heaven Remix. They should have gone to Eurovision with that... it was much more suited. Then had a listen to that Engelbert Humperdink entry... my God... what were we thinking? Yup, Humperdink was the worst song we EVER sent!
March 16, 20232 yr Shows how much the attitude of the general public in the UK has suddenly changed towards the contest, thanks entirely to Sam Ryder and the BBC team giving it their all last year. Honestly, give Brits a taste of success in something and loads of people suddenly forget about their old outdated prejudices. See also women's football thanks to our brilliant women's team winning the World Cup last year, its stock has never been so high. It's mad that the last time we took a top 40 hit into the contest was three decades ago (excluding a few that charted just one or two weeks before the show, Like Daz Sampson), but I'm happy we will be sending an existing hit single - however small - into the contest. Baby steps, if they carry on with this trajectory then maybe in a few years we'll be sending in a big top ten hit again. We were hoping for another top 3 Eurovision smash after last year, but guess you're right. Baby steps.
March 17, 20232 yr Finally got round to listening to this! Issa bangerrrrrr  Love this a lot more than Space Man last year
March 17, 20232 yr Hopefully Top 30 today which will result in some media exposure and more radio play
March 17, 20232 yr I was out in Liverpool last night at a Eurovision pre-party and finally heard this out and it BANGS in a club
March 17, 20232 yr Fantastic either way you look at it, to be top 30 two months prior to the contest is excellent.
March 20, 20232 yr #55 in todays mids - hopefully it’s stabilizes around this area in the run up to the competition.
March 20, 20232 yr ngl i wouldnt be upset if it ended up dropping out of the top 100 until eurovision, because the longer it charts now, the less weeks it'll have to do well following a eurovision boost and might end up with less weeks in the top 10/20/40 than it could if it racks up weeks in the chart now. its made the top 40 pre eurovision which is amazing and should do even better after the contest!
March 20, 20232 yr ^^ Keep forgetting the dreaded ACR will go against it :drama: The Eurovision boosts should hopefully be significant with the CD single released at the same time, I’m sure they’ll be some mixes too.
March 25, 20232 yr Mae had kicked off her European promo and is performing in Barcelona tonight - hopefully we’ll get to hear what IWAS sounds like live!
March 25, 20232 yr No one is listening to it in UK, let alone anywhere else  Daz Simpson 2.0. AT least Daz got top 10...
March 25, 20232 yr Jfc please shut up. We get it. Your posts are so boring and tiresome to read in this thread. It's literally the same post recycled over and over at this point.
March 25, 20232 yr I thibk you'll find everyone was sayong it waa gonna be a big hit in Eurovision, as it was in the charts. But oops, now it's not! Very bad sign for it.
March 26, 20232 yr Seen a few clips. Vocals not great in the chorus Arguably she has a cold :( Poor gal...
March 26, 20232 yr Finally listened to this now and... I guess it's not as bad as I expected? The production is at least a bit more interesting than I feared (I'd say it reminds me a little more of some older eurodance hits than the Love Island house sound) which puts it a notch above most of the Becky Hill and Mabel discographies. But still probably not gonna catch me enthusiastically supporting this one oop. (I really don't like the spoken part, still a little unclear on if that's part of the version she'll be performing or not, I hope not x)
