Lewis Capaldi is releasing his much-anticipated sophomore album on 19/5.

His mega-successful debut album has sold more than 1.5 million 'copies' since it came out exactly four years ago.

Three singles have preceded the album, and all of them went to #1.

How many 'copies' do you think the album will sell in its first week? Vote now! :cheer:

I expect he'll beat Ed's debut and most likely has a good shot at getting over 100k (his debut did 89.5k first week for context) - I'll say 101-120k.
Gone maybe optimistically with 121k-140k. Think he’ll do a lot better than Ed
Three #1 singles pre-album, but nothing close to the magnitude of Someone You Loved - still he should do at least 80k, and if it's trending close to 100k I think he'll do the requisite pushing on social media to get past that, so I've gone for 101-120k.
100K minimum, I'd say more like 120K
I feel like his number ones haven't been particularly huge though - I'm guessing he'll do approximately whatever Ed ends up on as I imagine their fanbase is almost identical. I feel like Harry Styles is a fair comparison but he felt like he had more hype to me, so whatever Harry did last year less a few thousand
Yes ages on pre-order, lots of formats, bundles, lots of signed items
I’m expecting around 85-90k. Considering 2/3 of the hits were reliant on those physicals to get to the top, I am not confident overall streaming numbers will be great. Expecting a slightly better response than Ed has got this week, but not much more. Expect physicals/downloads should at least get him over 60k alone, but we will see.

I think he could challenge for 100K in week one with pre orders, multi formats and streaming too.

I think he’s the type of artist who has a lot of causal fans and he’ll no doubt have plenty clever marketing in week one (like a “hilarious” billboard or self deprecating video).

I think this will challenge for the highest album sales year end for 2023 as well but i hope there’s some variety to it. I find it hard to tell his songs apart besides from Forget Me

'Wish You The Best' has done very well on streaming though (yes it needed physicals to get to #1 but would have been a solid top 5 hit even without them).

Exactly, it's not really that different comparatively to his first era where he had a big #1 and a top 5 leading up to the album's release.

I can’t see it. I think he’ll be lucky to shift more than 60k in the first week. Apart from forget me, none of the other singles have really connected with me in the same way as his first album.
