May 28, 20232 yr I think Run Away With Me would've been huge if Tiktok had existed at the time - obviously it was massively viral on Vine but that didn't have the same chart impact as Tiktok today. Used To Know Me by Charli XCX had everything to make it a UK smash except the promo - I think if it came out pre-album as the follow-up to Beg For You it could've done really well. Some others off the top of my head: - anything Rose Gray's put out recently (Ecstasy, Prettier Than You, Promise Me, etc) - So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings - Caroline Polachek - Experience - Victoria Monét ft. Khalid & SG Lewis - Skyline - Khalid - Weapons - Ava Max - if the UK wasn't so foreign language averse, then Nochentera - Vicco, Bruxelles je t'aime - Angèle, DESPECHÁ - ROSALÍA
May 28, 20232 yr Yeah, 'Run Away With Me' should have been a worldwide smash. Also, these for me; jrlMaRdM4wI 5eRJE4j9Cjk 2Yeln9ufheY Absolute pop perfection.
May 28, 20232 yr I don't know how to share videos so will just have to mention a couple that spring to mind... Back in the mid-80s, Bucks Fizz released a single called You and Your Heart So Blue. It came after the coach crash, but just as Jay quit. It got lost just outside the Top 40 but deserved to put them at least back in the Top 20. Much more recently, Ghosttown by Madonna from her Rebel Heart album didn't make the Top 100. If it had been released 15 years before, it would have been as easy Top 10 for her.
May 28, 20232 yr Pop girlies edition… Ghosttown- Madonna Get Outta My Way - Kylie Glassheart - Leona Lewis Make Me - Britney Lucky Day - Nicola Roberts Sirens - Cher Lloyd Lost My Mind - Lily Allen Think About Us - Little Mix Already Gone - Kelly Clarkson Bittersweet - Sophie Ellie Bextor 4 in the Morning - Gwen Stefani I Don’t Believe You - P!nk C’Mon - Kesha Hearts Don’t Lie - Gabriella Cilmi No Can Do - Sugababes Let Them Know - Mabel Unconditionally - Katy Perry I Was a Fool - Tegan and Sara
May 28, 20232 yr How has no one mentioned Tove Lo yet? (any of the singles from her last album but especially 'Grapefruit' which sounds like the kind of thing that could be a hit x)
May 28, 20232 yr CPtAMyqHrNc Let’s get our Swedish dame Agnes her long awaited return to the UK charts! Also absolute YES to Glassheart the song by Leona Lewis. Had that song led the album campaign of the same name she really could’ve gotten a big hit with it and the album could’ve been a lot bigger. There’s also I See You also by Leona which again needed a big push! She’s honestly had the most frustrating career of anyone that I stan so many missed opportunities down to management. That's before we get on to the most foolish decision of all - not releasing 'Outta My Head' from the second album!
