So hello Kylie fans! :hi:

I seldom ever post in this artist forum, let alone start threads (likely due to fear of public reactions), but as we all seem to be filling Kylie’s artist forum front page with everything about her new single, I got to thinking that would this song be up there with the likes of UK #1’s Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around and Slow from her post millennium era? Perhaps it is simply too early to say. However, I would personally suggest it is and the major push for the song across all media is clear that it’s a very hot song right now with listeners, both younger and older.

Anyway eager to hear what your thoughts are!

Well some of her best tracks didn’t make number 1 so it’s difficult to say really.

I would say it easily deserves a top ten. As for top five or more… jury is out for me.

However, she deserves all the success she is getting with this song even if for me, other songs deserved it more.

I think it’s definitely up there and it’s going to be a moment on tour - I can just imagine the arenas roaring ‘Padam, Padam’

I definitely prefer it to spinning around, with spinning around i love what it done for her career but the song itself isnt in my top list of Kylie songs, padam padam could take over slow for me but i cant see it reaching cant get you out of my head as i love the song especially the blue monday version.
I'll say yes! I think it sits comfortably after Can't Get You Out of My Head and Slow, all having a sleek and modern vibe.
I still think this song is nothing but an album filler. I don't get the hype around it! She has had way better songs!
A song like padam padam whether people like it or hate has a complete easy to remember ear worm of a chorus which are the type of songs that do well.

She has had better songs but they had zero connection outside of the fanbase with the GP.

That being said PP in my opinion is brilliant and it’s incredible to see people embracing new Kylie music in 2023.

I think although I have preferred other singles in the past decade, it's very easy to see why this has caught on. It's kind of one of those undeniable huge songs that has it
Even if the song is not to your personal taste, I don't understand how Padam Padam can be thought of as being album filler. Album filler suggests something that doesn't stand out. If Padam Padam does one thing well, it's certainly that it stands out.
I voted undecided as it's a bit early for me to compare right now but I have no doubt it'll be one that will be remembered for years probably.
The other side is not all of Kylies best songs unfortunatly made number 1, it will be interesting in a few years time to see how fans will rank padam padam in the list of Kylies overall singles.
It’s not one of my favourites at all and still think it’s very average for a lead single and Kylie has had much stronger lead songs but it seems to have connected more with wider public but does that make it no1 material? I am not sure. For me wrdonally, I’d say no.
I prefer it personally to all of her #1s! Sacrilege as it is I’m not even that much of a fan of CGYOOMH and Slow/Spinning Around for me are very good but not standout Kylie faves for me. Her 80s #1s are about the same
I feel like this will go down as a huge classic, it deserves to go to #1, but I'll take top 10/15 which will feel like a #1 for Kylie in this day and age.

THIS!!!

I thought I was the only one who thinks CGYOOMH is good, but not amazing and, whilst also pretty good, thinks Spinning Around and Slow are far from Kylie's best!

I guess hardcore fans don’t have taste as the GP think this song is bland.

It’s her biggest hit in 10+ years? This is not a ‘hardcore fan’ driven hit - if it was that easy for the fans to get a hit for Kylie then all of her singles would go Top 40, this has caught the attention of the GP hence why it’s doing so well as A listed at 3 of the biggest radio stations.
