February 18Feb 18 If Remember My Name is your favourite new release this week, make sure to vote for it in the Indie Track of the Week poll.
February 20Feb 20 Just listened to 'Remember My Name' (I was going to hold off until the album on Friday, but the comments in here swayed me to listen beforehand) I'm legit wiping tears away as I type this. Absolutely gorgeous song. Wow. A performance of that at the BRITs would get him an easy multi-week number 1 smash I think.
February 20Feb 20 Guardian review already up https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/feb/...watching-review
February 21Feb 21 First listen through and it's really good. It's better than 'Seventeen Going Under' but not quite 'Hypersonic Missiles', for me. 'Nostalgia's Lie', 'Crumbling Empire', 'Little Bit Closer' and 'TV Dinner' (very Nothing But Thieves self-titled - in the best way!) are my favourite of the tracks we haven't heard already. But 'Remember My Name' is my favourite overall.
February 21Feb 21 Such a solid album - highlights for me are ‘Nostalgia’s Lie’ and ‘Crumbling Empire’ - no skips on any of the tracks though. I think opening sales will be huge.
February 21Feb 21 40,913 Hypersonic Missiles [33,493 Physicals (8,210 vinyl + 469 Cassettes)+ 7,420 Digital] (13th September 2019) 43,717 Seventeen Going Under [34,603 Physicals] (8th October 2021) Very consistent sales across the board so far. I imagine very similar sales for this. Although those were in Q3/Q4. This is his first release in Q1.
February 22Feb 22 13. People Watching 14. Little Bit Closer *Highest New Entry* 17. Arm's Length 21. Nostalgia's Lie 26. Chin Up 31. Wild Long Lie 32. Crumbling Empire 39. Remember My Name *Biggest Gainer* 41. Rein Me In 52. TV Dinner 62. Something Heavy 92. Seventeen Going Under 125. Hypersonic Missiles Really nice effect on the Spotify charts! All 11 tracks top 62! Even more impressive considering his tracks aren't 2 minutes ish etc.. So this album is definitely resonating with people. Really intrigued to see his album sales.
February 22Feb 22 Several listens in and ‘Wild Long Lie’ is the clear lowlight for me, personally. It just plods on and on (bar the brass instruments ofc  - the way he utilises them is gorgeous every time!). However, I am finding something new about all the other tracks that I’m loving with each passing play.
February 22Feb 22 i gave this two plays last night, such a solid album! nostalgia's lie is incredible and is fast becoming my fave sam fender song, i am obsessed. the album has helped wild long lie fully click for me, i love that one. arms length im still not fully sold on. im excited to see the sales, could see him doing between 60-80k i think!
February 23Feb 23 Yeah a really solid album with pletnty of highs and few mehs - I feel like all of his albums are like this, but this one feels the most consistent in terms of production. Wonder when the deluexe version will be out? I reckon he might release it around the time of the St James park gigs.
February 28Feb 28 I heard this album yesterday and it is a rather strong piece. The standouts for me were; Nostalgia's Lie, Wild Long Lie, Something Heavy and Remember My Name. Can't forget the singles too.

February 28Feb 28 Sam Fender secures a record-breaking opening week, with People Watching netting the North Shields native a hat-trick of chart-topping albums.Shifting 107,100 chart units in its first seven days, People Watching earns Sam the biggest opening week of his career to date, and of the year so far. His 2019 debut Hypersonic Missiles managed a 40,900 opening week, while 2017’s Seventeen Going Under netted 43,700.This earns Sam the biggest opening week for a British artist since the release of Harry Styles’s Harry’s House three years ago, which racked up 113,000 in its first week back in May 2022.Sam joins an exclusive club of only nine artists who have managed 100,000 UK albums sales in a week this decade, joining Taylor Swift, Adele, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Take That, ABBA and Arctic Monkeys. What’s more, Sam breaks Official Chart records as People Watching becomes the fastest-selling vinyl album by a British act this century, boasting sales of 43,000 on the format this week. In doing so, the LP tops the Official Vinyl Albums Chart and Official Record Store Chart, too.Speaking to Official Charts, Sam Fender says:“This is completely overwhelming. Thank you to everyone who’s supported us and listened to the album this week.” Really pleased for him.
