Fell behind a bit so up to date now, Skall defo sounded like one of those doomed entries to me so good on them getting through.

Utopia's dnqing aw, really enjoyed that one.

Yass for streak continuing and believe it or not the song wasn't too instant for myself either so get that comment Jade

Also quite liked the Will Heard track and would've been in my next few votes outside :'(

YOU'RE HAVIN A FOOKEN LAUGH!!

THELONIA'S SANG WAS MY ENTRY FOR NEXT MONTH!!!!

I NEARLY SENT IT THIS MONTH

Yass for streak continuing and believe it or not the song wasn't too instant for myself either so get that comment Jade

 I checked out a few of her songs after she was mentioned in a Rolling Stone UK article. Glad you sent it to the contest so I got the chance to appreciate this one more now!

Well done on the impressive streak

No you qualify, son't worry. You qualified in my dream the other night too

You shoulda listened!! Told you so, Floppingsbury!!

Ben, do you mind telling us what was the threshold to qualify in Semi 2?!

Thank you.

Of course - weirdly, 51 points in both semis!!

10 voters in the semi but mostly small points, checks out! I want to say it's one that would be a grower for people but I've listened to it a ton of times myself and cannot reasonably expect anyone else to have done the same, not like I ever listen to other people's BJSC songs more than twice before voting in the semis :teresa: nice to see it being fairly broadly appealing anyway. Thanks to Iz, Kath, Doctor B, Mack, Jupiter, Chez and Klum for the rest of my points that I didn't already acknowledge earlier in the thread ^_^ (kinda neat that I got points back from all 4 of the DNQing nations I voted for)

Nothing planned for the next contest yet so time to think again if I want to go safe to keep avoiding DNQ streaks or take the opportunity to go unhinged now I am free of my Q streak xx

(111,000th post o:)

Aw I had a feeling a DNQ was coming but it's one of my favourite entries I've sent, been listening to it a lot recently so that's a shame :( the cielofobia

Missing a couple of my faves in the final, Abeltesfayeton deserved WAY better here

11th: Land of DW | BANANA & Crookers | PIZZA HOT

15th: Kluminican Republic | Ceréna | hearts on fire

17th: Persephonia | Paper Lady | Starcross

What was the threshold of qualification for SF2?
Thanks Ben for presenting the results! I'm once again grateful for the qualification, and I'm sad to lose my 8- and 6-pointer :( On to the final now!

The last time I posted an update of this including data of each nation's longest streak was all the way back in BJSC 144 (now I have all my relevant spreadsheet data finally up to date I can hopefully return to consistent updates from now on x). Back then Cumulonimbia and Summericia were already both on their current records and both of them have expanded those records a further 12 times in a row. More interestingly, in the time since that last update, Hendinia have quietly surpassed their old record of 34 (from BJSCs 19-52) and this month they reach 36 which matches Aeroche's best ever streak and is the joint 2nd longest streak by any nation in the contest's history, 6 away from matching the all time record of 42 (FSR Rontvia, BJSCs 13-54). They're only 1 qualification away from matching FSR Rontvia in having 42 consecutive entries qualify but that run was broken by them not appearing in BJSC 120.

The Spodic Empire have qualified with all of their first 5 entries, and are joined this month by Maple Ridge also having a 100% qualification record of 1, beginning their first potential qualification streak. Bronzil make it to 3 in a row for the first time (previous record of 2 in a row in BJSCs 151-152) and Neliönoir have 2 in a row for the first time (their only qualifier before this run was in BJSC 153).

With my own record streak ending this month, Cor Lupus take sole ownership of 2nd place on the list (we were briefly joint 2nd last contest after Aeroche losing their streak of 31), with Cumulonimbia now completing the podium. (Incidentally my run of 24 put me in, for now, joint 7th place of countries with the longest qualification streaks, tied with Qärenfanghoney and behind FSR Rontvia (42), Aeroche, Hendinia (both 36), Cor Lupus (33), Torchwood (28) and Quotosibb (27). I say 'for now' because it looks like both Cumulonimbia and Summericia have a great chance to knock me down to 9th by the end of the year. Aeroche, Cor Lupus and Hendinia have each had two separate streaks of 25+ so mine was the joint 10th longest individual streak of all time).

Ramrynia's last DNQ was in BJSC 123 - they entered 3 more times that year (124, 125 and 129) with all three of those qualifying, this is their first appearance since then and resumes their broken streak which was left off at 3.

Very excited to have qualified and ended my DNQ streak! I didn't think my entry stood out very much in Semi 1, so I agree with Bray that it felt kinda doomed but thank goodness it wasn't. Speaking of Bray, thanks for the Q streak update!

08 | Yobnedorica | Devon Cole | Good On Me

04 | Terra Avium | Chloé Caillet | Quieres (Parts 1 & 2) (feat. Kaleta)

02 | Abeltesfayeton | Kenny Mason | DRACULA

01 | Pestolia | OBK | El Cielo No Entiende

Eep at losing four faves, I especially thought Yobnedorica and Terra Avium would both sail through :( Less surprised at Abeltesfayeton and Pestolia but both were great discoveries nevertheless <3

Thanks to whoever gave points to 'Scenario' and thanks Ben for hosting!

👀👀👀👀👀 looking at some of the qualifiers and seriously questioning everyone's sanity.

Clearly the wrong audience, absolutely robbed, too good for BJSC etc. I'll be back next month with a long post-rock song, you're welcome. x
