Those acts who managed to avoid being one hit wonders but are only really known for the one song, despite having other songs reach the upper reaches of the charts.

This was created due to me mentioning Esmée Denters in the "One Hit Wonders" thread, but that's slightly cheating for that thread as she had a second top 10 hit as a feature on Chipmunk's song 'Until You Were Gone'! So I'll mention it here as I'm sure people only remember 'Outta Here'!

'Until You Were Gone' actually charted and peaked HIGHER than 'Outta Here', but the latter is definitely the one people remember the most. In fact her duet with Justin Timberlake, 'Love Dealer' which only reached #68 here, is more remembered!

Another one before I pass on to you guys:

Sunblock! Had one of the biggest dance hits of 2006 with their Baywatch themed smash 'I'll Be Ready'!

They then went on to have 2 (!) further top 20 hits...

First Time: #09

Baby Baby: #16

They're definitely only remembered for 'I'll Be Ready'. But I did prefer and love 'First Time' more! I don't think anybody remembers that or their 3rd hit all that much.

THESE VIDEOS THOUGH OH LORD :tearsmile:

Fun! spring to mind for me here. Massive #1 'We Are Young' and then 'Some Nights' peaked at #7 later in the same year and nothing else minus Nate on Pink's JGMAR!

Dang I did a full post just now on Fun, posted it to the wrong thread, then deleted it because I saw you got there first!

'We Are Young' is undeniable the bigger hit, of course, but I was expecting the Spotify streams of it and 'Some Nights' to be much further apart!

We Are Young - 989m

Some Nights - 627m

I was going to post this in the other OHW thread, a #2 hit in 2011 and then what I imagined was radio silence...

... but apparently he had a follow up that got to #14 the same year.

Spiller.

The follow-up to No.1 Groovejet was this terrible track, which ended up at the other end of the chart at No.40, two years later.

The backing track is fine in a Daft Punk tribute sort of way, but the vocals. Lol. I can see why it didn't smash. Not to mention the video...

Oh, and I have to mention Puretone because this wondeful track was No.1 in my chart a year and a half after Addicted To Bass was huge, but it stiffed at No.26 in the UK. I suspect they left it too long to follow up really...

Basshunter maybe?

He’s had 7 top 40 hits

I'd assumed these were one hit wonders, but they did all have a second Top 40 hit:

Plummet - Damaged (#12, 2003); Cherish The Day (#35, 2004)

XTM & DJ Chucky presents Annia - Fly On The Wings Of Love (#8, 2003); Give Me Your Love (#28, 2005)

4 Strings - Take Me Away (Into The Night) (#15, 2002); Diving (#38, 2002)

I believe some people still don't remember John Martin had a lot of top 10 hits when Don't You Worry Child was too iconic:

I think I’ve got one…

Cassie

Here’s her song she is probably known for, a UK #6 hit in 2006;

At the time of this post, the video has just shy of 150 million views.

Here’s the follow up that peaked at #12 in the same year;

Just over 51 million views at the time of this post.

Great song that was, shame it's chart run was so short but it was to be expected I guess.

yeah Some Nights was a huge song, i'd have never considered them to be one hit wonders in any capacity :lol:

We can refer to her as a not so one-hit wonder even though she had 2 different names
