Posted October 12, 20231 yr 9 queens to go and its girlgroups week! because I guess they love having two groups of different sizes these days in Drag Race UK. She's coming off a win last week, but Banksie struggled in the last performance challenge. Cara, on the other hand, killed it in week 1. Maybe it's her chance to shine? Or maybe Tomara or Naomi can do a bit better this week after their disasters in the design challenge? Although I'm enjoying this season I'm mostly watching to see what Kate Butch comes out with this week!

Sorry to say it because her story is a valuable one to be on the show, but Cara Melle was by and large quite insufferable at times this episode and is really not gelling for me on Drag Race UK approaching it like an over the top American contestant. I don't understand how she's doing her confessionals but it comes off as fake to me. I really enjoyed the comedy girls' girlgroup and it felt like they didn't win just to be unpredictable because the comedy group always wins in DRUK. All of their verses were funny, they had the hilarious leg trumpet bit AND they overcame a huge handicap.
October 12, 20231 yr That was a really fun episode, and I enjoyed both girl groups. I think the chalk and cheese of one being very serious and a proper girl group performance and the other being more comedic and different-than-normal approach to it really made it all the better. This episode really helped me warm to Kate, Banksie and Ginger a LOT too. Overall I think this cast is super strong, but I cannot STAND Tomara right now. There's something about her that's just totally off-putting. :( Clearly she's going to be there until the end though.
October 12, 20231 yr My favourite episode in a long time. Everyone killed it and the runways were spectacular. Kate Butch and Ginger Johnson need more recognition imo. Both ate that challenge. Michael and Vicki also stay as consulate professionals delivering every week.

They all ate. It's a good sign of a great cast when it's episode three and you don't want to lose most of them. That Banskie Bowie look?! Shoot.
October 13, 20231 yr I think it's the first time I agree no one deserved to go?? Both girl groups smashed it! Cara Melle deserved to win, albeit the camerawork didn't quite do her justice in the girl group challenge tbf. The only thing I didn't like on the runway is Michael Marouli. The taping looks absolutely horrendous. Well done to the M52s for overcoming the disadvantage brilliantly.
October 14, 20231 yr Author I do think the season is on great form, pushing UK2 right now. Hoping we have some more iconic challenges to come as that is where UK2 really ran away with it.
October 16, 20231 yr Finally watched this last night after dodging spoilers! What an episode, smiled from start to finish and everyone got a chance to shine. We HOWLED at Banksie’s “Hiya Ru, what you having for your tea? Bangers and mash, yeah, dead sexy” - IMMEDIATELY ICONIC. Kate Butch was on fire with the comedic input all episode and Tomara continued to make me chuckle just by having that face and reacting to absolutely everything at a 10 at all times. Can only echo the series hype, definitely feels on course to be back where Series 1 and Series 2 were, if they can keep the momentum going.

October 17, 20231 yr The episode was so fun! Very happy it was a non-elim episode as well. Everyone did really well - it's such a strong cast. I preferred the verses of the comedy girl group. If it was individual performances Kate would've been high - her verse was great/comedy on point and I loved her runway performance. :lol: Made me laugh. The serious girl group was great and I agreed with the top 2 and judging in general. Banksie slaying the runway as I thought they would *_* My favourite look of the night. My only qualm is that Cara Mellle sticks out like a sore thumb in terms of being an american in a UK series. I think she's fierce and amazing, but I don't think she really fits the series as well as I hoped. I have a feeling she may struggle with the comedy/acting challenges potentially. Speaking of which, I cannot wait for a comedy challenge for Kate to finally show her stuff *_* I think she's my favourite queen on the cast currently.

Why not If this ain’t love or Murder on the Dancefloor? I thought Sophie was super cute loved her little “why didn’t you come as me then” quip 😅
