November 20, 20232 yr Here for Sam Ryder getting an Alexa smash Meghan Trainor has an Alexa-fuelled version of Jingle Bells at #98 too.
November 20, 20232 yr Hoping that 1989 manages to get another week at #1, I'd have been here for either Oasis or the Beatles but I'm really not fond of Madness
November 20, 20232 yr Where are Ed and Elton? It got back to No.3 last year. I guess it hasn’t had a weekly boost big enough to get it back off ACR yet (as it’s too new to be on permanent ACR). I thought it would have done by now.
November 20, 20232 yr I don't really have any interest in new music from Madness but it is surprising that they've never had a #1 with a studio album (though they have had 2 #1 greatest hits albums), wouldn't mind if they do hang on but hard to tell if they'll be able to shift the ~5k or whatever in the rest of the week to secure that. Didn't realise there was a physical release for The National's latest album this week, glad it will secure a chart position of some kind but will still be by far their lowest charting album since their breakthrough ('High Violet' and every album since then made the top 5). 'Surround Sound' in at #92 in the singles midweeks *.* hope it'll be safe for a top 100 entry as a long overdue first for J.I.D as lead artist, I guess the viral moment will have to last a while for it to go much higher than that since the Christmas takeover is starting properly now. (21 Savage and Baby Tate not currently credited on the OCC website, hope that'll be fixed for the final chart if it's still there) Surely its still on SCR tho as it never had 3 declines? Declines while it's outside the chart still count, almost certain that it would have declined 3 times in a row some time this year. It could get the 25% increase to get back to SCR this week but that won't be reflected until the final chart if so.
November 20, 20232 yr I only heard it properly for the first time the other day, given the quality of her last album's singles, I was quite surprised how mediocre it sounds in comparison. Tgis COME ON MARIAH!!! Maybe next week will be her leapfrog moment
November 20, 20232 yr Lovely all Christmas just wind up humbug in this fourm Considering you moan about literally every song being too old, I find this rather hypocritical lmao.
November 20, 20232 yr Another close week for #1 in the albums then! I think Madness will have it quite comfortably, they’d have to not sell another copy to end up at #2. I would imagine there’d be a big push on socials/price reduction if Taylor was to get close
November 20, 20232 yr She’s not been a big album seller here for a while though, her last one only got to #23. Was that not her Xmas album though?
November 20, 20232 yr Taylor will get another week as Madness have all the physicals added so are relying on purchases now. Xmas songs taking hold now as week ending 2/12/23 I guess so not that surprising! Nice to see Sam Ryder in there already.
November 20, 20232 yr Was that not her Xmas album though? Nope! 'Run, Rose, Run' in 2022. I suppose this one has been marketed a bit more, but I didn't think it would make a massive jump in sales.
November 20, 20232 yr I thought you meant her Xmas album last year which would have been a interesting comparison. That is quite low for in the albums for her!
November 20, 20232 yr I thought you meant her Xmas album last year which would have been a interesting comparison. That is quite low for in the albums for her! The Christmas album was 3 years ago now :P
November 20, 20232 yr Could change back by Friday but is this the first time lover has been above midnights
November 20, 20232 yr Nope! 'Run, Rose, Run' in 2022. I suppose this one has been marketed a bit more, but I didn't think it would make a massive jump in sales. Dolly always strikes me as someone who, as much as people love her, few people are interested in new music from her.
November 20, 20232 yr Nice to see Sam Ryder climbing in the singles, hopefully it can keep climbing for him now. Not a major surprise but Emeli Sande not doing well in the albums, cant see it been anywhere near the top 40 on Friday.
