The extended version really adds something to it!

I'm really hoping the song will come alive for me properly when I inevitably hear it all over Hoopla next weekend.

A close and exciting race across both sides of the pond!

Her team have released another version to download today, ‘yes, and? (edit)’ which cuts out a chunk of the intro and has different artwork:

My vinyl just turned up:

same clear pressing as the '7 rings' and 'break up with your girlfriend, i'm bored' 7" records (they went with standard black for 'thank u, next')

That cover makes it look like you've taken a really poor photo  The vinyl looks cute though!

I really don't like that cover

(P.s. I ADORE the little set up you have for these images though )

I fear she’s gonna miss out. Noah Kahan has sent out his cd singles early so they’ll count to the chart so she’s probably lost out now :(
I’ll be satisfied with it being a #2 alongside the iconic #2s One Last Time and no tears left to try :cheeseblock: and Don’t Call Me Angel

 I don't strongly dislike the artwork but I'm not crazy about it either. I think these are my holy trinity of Ari single artworks:

thanks btw <3 the shelves in my office have an additional use as the background for these quick photoshoots

I hadn't totally lost hope of #1 yet (with vinyl potentially not being counted until now, additional version to download today, maybe YouTube numbers etc.) but definitely feeling less optimistic than yesterday if Noah is going to have a physical advantage, on top of the streaming gap growing :( here's hoping she can get the U.S. #1 at least.

Lol, Jay :kink: what a shame that both 'One Last Time' and 'no tears left to cry' were blocked by huge songs as well ('One Kiss' and 'Despacito') - #2 would still be great though, especially 7 albums in.

I don't think Noah will have sold that many physicals tbh, I would be surprised if it was the deciding factor (mainly saying that because I think he's likely going to be #1 regardless, but happy that Ari put up a valiant effort to reclaim #1 on the Wednesday update).

Think the US #1 looks very likely now at least, a 5 point predicted lead at this stage in the week is safer than the 7 point predicted deficit she had in the earlier prediction.

It all depends on pure sales in the US too. The AM position is very disappointing there (#19) and Spotify lead very small. I have a feeling this will do better in the UK than in the US in the long run.

I'm pretty convinced this will be #2 this week in the UK but may hopefully climb to #1 when the album is released if it managed to become a long running hit.

It's been shipped but I'm yet to receive my CD.

Pop/dance songs rarely make much of an impact on Apple Music in the US, I really wouldn't read much into its position there. For example 'greedy' has never got higher than #20 there. (I do agree it may well do better in the UK in the long run just because house music is generally more popular here though).

So, 'yes, and?' is Ariana's credited...

12th top 3 hit

16th top 5 hit

21st top 10 hit (very soon after achieving #20 with 'Santa Tell Me')

32nd top 40 hit

:cheer:

Looking forward to finding out the sales / gap!

#2 in the UK. At least it defeated MOTD with all the versions and pure sales.

She would’ve been #2 on streaming alone!

01 72,235 Noah Kahan - Stick Season [8 vinyl, 1,735 downloads, 70,492 streaming]

02 71,636 Ariana Grande - yes, and? [4,669 CDs, 3,493 vinyl, 5,495 downloads, 57,979 streaming]

03 56,792 Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Murder on the Dancefloor

Really great sales for all of the top 3.

Yes, I put her at 57,999 on just streams!

That has beaten the first week streams of 'positions' (that had 56,101 streaming sales first week and 60,909 total sales) - an excellent start regardless of pure sales being a bit inflated by the extra versions and physicals, I'm not sure it'll quite have the stability 'positions' had but hopefully a decent top 10 run coming at least. Oops at this now being the 3rd time she's peaked at #2 with 70k+ sales! :drama:

Her sales this week are higher than all but 2 #2s last year (Sam Ryder doing 86,211 on the post Christmas week + J Hus/Drake debuting with 72,987). And they'd have been enough for #1 in all but 9 weeks ('Flowers' had higher sales in each of its first 5 weeks, 'Sprinter' in its first 2 and then a week each for The Beatles and Wham!) - just a shame for her that she ran into another monster hit.
