I also enjoy this thread waiting to see Dannii Minogue receive her first single certification 😮

What is the closest? Do we know?

Why is barely anyone replying to the certifications lately? Is barely anyone interested in them right now?

I love this thread, I check it every week!

What is the closest? Do we know?

I would have thought All I Wanna Do, Who Do You Love Now and This Is It may have already reached silver status but have not been certified.

Also I Begin To Wonder could be close.

This is just my feeling tho.

Certifications are automatic, if they've reached silver status they'll be certified!

record companies have no involvement / have to apply?

Not in the UK, I believe they do have to apply in the US.

I don’t understand why it wouldn’t be automatic in every country, surely it’s very simple to just award the certification when a song passes the necessary sales

Aren't pre February 1994 sales not considered when awarding BPI certs due to change in chart compiler at the time? As Danni's peak commercial era was pre 1994 IIRC, then I think her chance of obtaining certs is very slim as she dies not have enough legacy appeal as other pre 1994 artists who've done well or at least better in the post 1994 era with their past hits.

We love to see 'Perfect (Exceeder)' going platinum and 'Cracker Island' certified *.*

(I've only just started reading this thread again after a little hiatus from keeping up with this forum in general but when I am active here I do always read these lists even if I don't always reply x)

This would only apply to This Is It of the named songs! (I agree though)

'All I Wanna Do' by Dannii Minogue musn't have sold / streamed much at all in the digital era as the record was only 20,000 copies short of Silver status based on its sales from 1997 (it's 1997 sales total was 179,822).

Even if pre-1994 sales were included in the OCC sales database and could be added to post February 1994 sales totals, 'This Is It' would be far from being certified Silver as it's sales were only 110,000 during 1993. 'Who Do You Love Now (Stringer)' sold 133,470 in 2001 and 'I Begin To Wonder' sold about 100,000 in 2003.

Well imma gonna make a Dannii playlist tonight & stream her more.

It’ll be most of neon nights plus a few others basically.

WDYLN - was on 170,000 copies in 2009, it sold well into 2002

Keep streaming people it cant be far away!!

I think it could be a crediting issue. Dannii has gone by her full name and just her first first at alternative times and the BPI have a history of having duplicate certifications. I know her streams are low but I find it odd she can hasn’t managed 20/30k for All I Wanna Do and Who Do You Love Now to pass 200k.
problem with 'Who Do You Love Now' is the version of it on her album is credited solely to her so I begin to wonder if any streams the song is getting aren't being combined with the original release (Riva feat. Dannii)

You both make excellent points!!

Everyone give these two songs a play today !!
