Day 30

While I don’t really listen to music before bed as it wakes me up, my mother used to sing this song to me when I was a child before bed and it’s always been a favourite ever since.

The Seekers - Morning Town Ride

yes Wardy as others have said thanks for running this so effortlessly and smoothly

as I said earlier, we should do it more often :D

Edited by Bjork

Go on then I’ll go classical too! This is a very simple and accessible piece for those who aren’t familiar - and it’s very beautiful. It reached #32 in 2011 as Greg James featured it as good exam revision music, but it also works for bedtime.

Thanks very much for this Wardy: I’ll need to collate my 30 choices at some point.

Day 30:

I promised myself I wouldn't end this event without using a Delta Goodrem song, so...

"Prepare yourself to meet a girl who cannot sleep, dividing every question 'til the questions are complete"

I used to relate to this a lot as I was very much a pre-sleep analyst, and even though you'd think being deep in thought might stop you from sleeping, it used to do the opposite for me as consciously trying to empty my mind has never really worked.

------

Many thanks for running this Wardy, I've enjoyed it a lot, both selecting a song to use for each theme and seeing what everyone else picked. There have been some genius selections, some classics, and some good discoveries made.

Gorgeous piece, I love that this made the top 40 and I've been into Einaudi ever since. I very nearly posted this the other day as a song that takes you on a journey, but I couldn't specifically explain why it did.

Day 30: I don't really listen to music before bed (usually in the evenings I'll be watching TV or hanging out with my flatmates) but I think this is a good one, there's a few energetic moments I guess but the vocals are very whispery and calming that I feel I could probably fall asleep to it.

Thanks for running this Wardy, it's been fun to check in each day and see what everyone's choosing! And some very creative themes ^_^

Likewise don't really use the right music to go to bed often. Might need to change that though to relax more.. just going based off the kinda song I could see perfect for sleeping to though and this fits the bill. You can see yourself drifting off into a wonderful dream..

Thanks for running Wardy. It's been a fun project and like others wouldn't he opposed to another one this year at some stage or something similar to it!

April 30th – A song you like to listen to before bed [Challenged by uhsting]

There were a few options for this final challenge, but I’ve decided to settle on a famous piece from a movie soundtrack that I’ve found to be sleep inducing in the past, so I will thank uhsting for allowing me to make use of it here. Lisa Gerrard provides the most moving vocals on this and it takes me to another place entirely.

Day 30:

A song you like to listen to before bed.

Tinashe - Ghetto Boy

It was between this or one of those huge female vocal power ballads that I tend to go on a YouTube rabbit-hole before bed a lot. I chose this because I really wanted to use Tinashe at some point. Such a smooth, chilled song that just relaxes me. Gorgeous.

Thanks for organising and arranging this Wardy. It's been a LOT of fun.

I'd rather not end the month with my 10 hour loop of white noise so I'll go with something else x

I don't really listen to music as I'm trying to fall asleep but if I'm having trouble falling asleep I usually put a Paramore album on, mostly Brand New Eyes as it's such a comfort album for me, got me through high school basically so it knows no bounds

Day 30 Paramore - Turn It Off

Closing this challenge with Indonesia's biggest song of 2019 (and oop at me sending another Sabrina Carpenter  ).

I rarely listen to music before going to bed, but I used to listen to this song a lot during night time, though I highly preferred the Da Tweekaz Remix. Such a nostalgic song that reminded me of PUBG Mobile and a little proof Sabrina has been quite that big. :heehee:

April 30th - A song you like to listen to before bed

Cranes - Inescapable

Not really a theme I can relate to as I don't do a specific type of music before bed, just whatever I'm playing as the time for bed approaches, It could be anything, BUT in trying to go with the idea behind it I've plumped for something pretty chilled out, rather than loud - Portsmouth's Cranes, who were bloody excellent right up until their first album.

DAY TWENTY NINE - COUNTRIES

Beirut with a song from his first full album, something I haven't listened to in ages so very glad this topic came up to remind me of it

DAY THIRTY - SLEEP

Ever since I was about 10 years old Enigma have been my go to relaxation music, even now I'll sometimes pop one of their albums on to drift away to - although more to relax in the evening than specifically to fall asleep to.

Day 30 - Music before bed would certainly not help me sleep unless it's Brahms' Lullaby, but this soothing, gorgeous acoustic number would probably be a suitable one.

Thanks for this, Wardy, a lot of fun as always, thank you also for collating and saving me a job :kink:
