Posted April 9, 20241 yr Following on from the discussion around possible spotify numbers for Taylor's Swift's new album I thought a poll of how we think it might do would be a good idea. Number is streams on first day in the UK obviously Edited April 9, 20241 yr by DoBelieveTheHype
April 9, 20241 yr Think an opening day of over 1 million for the lead track but falling in daily numbers pretty fast afterwards.

April 9, 20241 yr 900-1.2 for sure. The game has changed almost everybody has Spotify these days so anything under 700 would be more unlikely than over a million
April 10, 20241 yr First day I will say anything between 700k-800k. And levelling at about 540k on average for the rest of the week. (So I voted 500k-749k)
April 10, 20241 yr I am going between 750k-1 mil region. Would be shocked if the biggest song did less than 700k, but not convinced the appetite across the general public for the new album is as significant as some people are thinking. Time will tell.
April 10, 20241 yr 750-999k. I can't see the top track opening with over 1 million but willing to be proven wrong.
April 10, 20241 yr The top vault track from '1989 (Taylor's Version)' did little more than 750k, yes it was the wrong choice of focus track and no it wasn't an album of all new material, but its build-up and the album's overall opening sales were comparable to expectations for this one, so I've gone for 750-999k.

I wonder if IION? could have pushed 1m had it been the one they included in playlists?
April 10, 20241 yr I would think if any album of her career is going to set a watermark on streaming in its first day it should be this one given it’s coming off the back of her most successful era since 1989 and the re-release of said album, plus the tour. How it holds up the rest of the week it’s hard to say, but I wouldn’t be surprised if 2-3 songs are around or above the million mark. I think 1.5 mil for the lead track but could easily be a little higher.
