With the Tommy Richman song cracking the UK top 40 it gave me this idea - choose your favourite top 40 hits that share a title with an Oscar Best Picture winner!

Quite a few surprises here, the most common titles are Sunrise and From Here To Eternity with 3 appearances each and only one #1 single appears, courtesy of Little Mix. There was a top 40 called Sunrise for 3 years in a row!

(NB I've been pretty strict with exact titles with the exceptions of including/excluding 'The' from titles)

Spotlight by a mile. But I’m not familiar with the vast majority of those songs! Very good idea though, I’m surprised there’s so many

Voted for Vangelis, Modern Romance, Primitives, Angel City, Star Pilots, Birdy, Neon Jungle & Tommy Richman.
Special mention to the band All About Eve <3
Modern Romance got my vote. A very varied selection of songs including many I don't know - gave the Giorgio Moroder one a play.
Voted for Vangelis, D:Ream (nice that one of their other hits apart from 'Things' gers a spotlight) and Birdy's 'Wings' (which has been used for a couple of films ('Labor Day', 'Winter's Tale)

Lil bump as I saw this thread the other week but didn't get around to voting in it until now :jump:

Voted for Vangelis, John Legend, Star Pilots, Birdy, XXXTENTACION (the one song I do shamefully really like from him x at least I'm not alone in voting for it!) and Tommy Richman. A few other pretty good songs on there too although as per usual with these polls a ton that I don't recognise by title.

I see Vangelis and Jennifer Hudson were tied for the win in this poll before I voted so broken that tie for now :magic:

Ooh nice idea, I went for Chariots of Fire, Crash (original obvs x shame it shares a name with a joke of a winner), In The Heat of the Night (forgotten dance banger) and Birdy's Wings. Haven't actually seen any of those films though x

John Legend - Ordinary People [2005, #4]

Jennifer Hudson - Spotlight [2008, #11]

Birdy - Wings [2013, #8]

Neon Jungle - Braveheart [2014, #4]

^ got my votes. Spotlight my overall favourite

Voted for Vangelis, Modern Romance and Star Pilots. Almost voted for Neon Jungle's attempt at big room house

Which reminds me - shoutout to DJ Sakin and friends - Protect Your Mind (Braveheart) who maybe should have been included.
