6 first places for the Beatles! Impressive.

Also impressive is how much last survey’s number 20 will have climbed!

Actually this will be interesting: last time there wer:

41 points between 1st and 6th place,

78 points between 6th and 7th place,

90 points between 7th and 20th place.

It’s likely that the top 6 groups will remain the same, but could be in any order. And the 7th group will be the one that have climbed from 20th place - and if so, it’s not quite as a big a climb as it seems (though still quite impressive).

Over the moon about that climb for The Beatles this time  they continue to lock out my top 3 favourite albums of all-time with Revolver, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Abbey Road. Their influence as a group obviously cannot be understated and the journey of listening through their discography from front to back is a masterclass in artistic progression.
Great showing there for The Beatles (I believe my highest vote remaining), guess that was helped by their 'comeback' last year. That was a good chance to get more into their discography, it is quite incredible how ahead of their time the songs still sound to this day.
Beatles are very similar to PSB for me, in the fact that I think they have great songs but their voices don’t do anything for me, prefer when other people sing their songs. So not fully for me but fully deserving of 8th place for their impact !

Fab showing for The Beatles but still a little surprised they aren't above a couple of acts still to come but that might just be underestimating the fanbases.

Was fun listening to The Beatles via the rate earlier in the year and making some great discoveries as well as hearing the golden classics!

Well last time they were 14 places lower than they should be and this time they’re only 7 places lower so that’s twice as good a result.

I think it’s fair to say that nobody else here would have made quite the same music without them. Hard to do a top 3 but 3 of my favourite album tracks are “A Day In The Life”, “Across The Universe” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.

A big fan of the Beatles love a few of their album especially let it be, sgt peppers and rubber soul. Their legacy and impact obviously cannot be denied too.

The Beatles had my 26 points last time, but thanks to their ~new~ song last year, I have charted them therefore they were always bound for my maximum points this time. My favourites from them: 'And Your Bird Can Sing', 'Eleanor Rigby', 'A Day In The Life' are just the tip of the iceberg...

...and that's me out! If the ABBA comeback had been 15 months later I'd have charted them too, and Queen also got a small vote from me last time, the rest being this high are as Buzzjack all over as expected!

I’m out now too! I don’t dislike all of the top lot, but not many are acts I’d choose to listen to.

Sugababes

are probably my favourite out of the remaining groups

Having not seen the results from last time, my initial reaction was disbelief at some of the acts the Beatles must have finished beneath in this rate. But reading all the comments, I guess this time round is actually a marked improvement! Number 8 still seems very low to me. Admittedly I only gave them +17 but assumed they'd have broader support than some acts still to come.

The Beatles finally taking their rightful place in the top ten *.* has there ever been a more important band in the history of music?

It's impossible to realistically argue against the inclusion of The Beatles in the top 10 of any 'greatest music' list and as said they are arguably both directly and indirectly, the most influential band in music history (rivalled only perhaps by The Velvet Underground). Whilst not even close to my favourite band they are undeniably imperious and almost everyone likes something by them.

They weren't always universlly adored, particularly in sections of the '80s alt scene but time has only deepened people's respect for them.

Must admit, as much as I admire Queen and especially Freddie, they are a band I choose to listen to actively very little. Maybe because their songs are so ubiquitous that you hear them everywhere anyway.

I think my favourites are Somebody To Love and You're My Best Friend. Bohemian Rhapsody, Don't Stop Me Now, Radio GaGa and many more are legendary of course and they deserve their status as one of the all-time greats.

Queen, at least up to The Game, were also a fantastic albums band. Some amazing deep cuts there. Sadly, I just think they’re remembered for their Greatest Hits (and Greatest Hits II haha).
