In 1983 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' a instrumental piece released by Japanese composer Ryuichi Sakamoto released as the soundtrack of the film of the same name reached top 20 in the UK Charts. 16 years later DJ Quicksilver under the alias Watergate released a dance remix of the track and took it to number 3 which is also where it finishes in this edition.

I started with a clear top 5 (One Night Only, Jordin Sparks, Mika, Watergate & Aaliyah)

So Aaliyah FTW

My winner in this and any other survivor that could ever be done, is Set You Free (Rob Searle Remix). A transformative remix of a classic track.

But I'm also really happy that Aaliyah is in the final with it, such a quality song and production.

Both brilliant and the perfect final 2 but for me original Set You Free > More Than A Woman > remixed Set You Free, so Aaliyah it is!
N-Trance to win - the 1995 hit version reigns supreme but this was a great twist on it
