June 25, 20241 yr Liam had a big hit straight to #3 (without need of physicals to just reach top 10 for a week like Perrie) which had some longetivity and multiple top 40s Louis same as Liam really and Niall has had a long stable career. Louis has done much better than Liam I think. Louis has a surprisingly large and dedicated fanbase, and has been playing arenas for a few years now. His most recent album also got to #1 in the UK and #5 in the US.
June 25, 20241 yr I also think lm solos waited far too long post split, 1d had all put out solo music by mid 2017, less than 2 years after splitting up. With lm they’ve all waited too long. They split up 2.5 years ago and perrie only just started her solo career a few months ago, Leigh Anne last summer so 1.5 years post split and still nothing from jade so they lost the hype of solo music they could’ve had if they sped the process up

It’s the equivalent of Jess Glynne/Rita Ora waiting 4 years for her next album, British artists in particular people move on from if they’re not releasing music. They fade away as their music isn’t international so it’s not all over social media/tv ads/day to day life. Surely they knew this before hand and know they’re gonna flop?it doesn’t take a genius. So many careers have been dramatically impacted from waiting too long, Ellie Goulding is another good example. Edited June 25, 20241 yr by BellyClarkson
June 25, 20241 yr Idk if I'd count Jade out yet, personally (least of all because we literally haven't heard the song yet ) I'm not saying she is guaranteed a smash hit or anything, but I feel like she has always had the most *loyal* fanbase and support out of the group. She also has a huge LGBTQ+ following and if things go to plan for her, she could easily be a success in a way that people like Rina Sawayama, Tove Lo, Charli XCX, Robyn etc.. currently are (also, again, I'm not saying it is guaranteed to happen, but I think it absolutely could for her) EDIT: Also, Perrie has herself to blame for this. As a huge Little Mix stan, even I'm not bothered about this song. It's so... bland. I think I've listened to it a handful of times and that's it (also promoting it out of the blue with a release about 2 weeks later... yikes. Just throwing it out there, I guess.
June 25, 20241 yr I think both Perrie and LA started well enough, with a top 10 single, helped by physicals sure but a top 10 in Perrie's case a song written by Ed Sheeran, not sure what more can you ask for imo they should have released the album straight away after single 1 makes no sense to have this long pre-album campaigns especially if the follow-up is not another killer single but a rather lacklustre album filler kinda track
June 25, 20241 yr Why are people shocked about Petrie? That song is so generic and like 2010s sounding, it was clearly not a hit. They all waited too long after Little Mix ending to launch solo careers I’m not overly shocked - just thought she would have enough of a fanbase left over from LM and the fact her debut went Top 10 and there are 3 x physical versions and 4 x 59p iTunes versions to scrape the Top 40.
June 25, 20241 yr For some reason, LM's solo careers couldn't take off like the 1D members. I think the LM girls would love any of the solo 1D success tbh Niall - 8 x Top 40 singles, 2 x #1 albums, Top 3 album Liam - 6 x Top 40 singles, Top 20 album Louis - 3 x Top 40 singles, #1 album, Top 5 album Zayn - 8 x Top 40 singles, #1 album, Top 3 album, Top 20 album Harry - 11 x Top 40 singles, 2 x #1 albums, Top 3 album
June 25, 20241 yr ^ I think they meant LM's solo careers haven't taken off in the same way 1D's have!

Wanting to spend time with their new born probably delayed things a bit. Male bands tend to do better as solo artist then women bands in general. Edited June 25, 20241 yr by kimberley88

June 25, 20241 yr This ain't that type of forum sis The sports forum was the 2nd most popular last week. :P
June 25, 20241 yr I think a big problem facing Little Mix's solo careers is that unlike 1D, 99% of the public wouldn't be able to name a member of Little Mix. Seriously impressive for Brat if it gets a 3rd week top 5, she hasn't had an album even get 3 weeks in the top 40 before now! This! They are supportive of them as a group when they make decent pop songs but individually they are less familiar with them!
June 26, 20241 yr This ain't that type of forum sis I don't understand your reply. I was making a point about the First look Chart which forms part of the "Friday Chart Predictions" thread which this is. Also why are you calling me sis ? Edited June 26, 20241 yr by mrpopquiz

Also why are you calling me sis ? There are a lot of non football fans on here so the first look may well be as well viewed as ever is the non sassy version! :D
