June 29Jun 29 Horrid. Don't see why they just don't just increase NI back to where it was before the Tories cut it before the election. That would raise enough money that they don't need to implement such harsh cuts.Easiest thing for them to do would be to re-join the single market. Massive boost to economy would result and basically forgo the need for all these cuts and would drive growth. But they don't have the courage to do something like that (no courage at all given they are targeting some of the most vulnerable people in society). An election won't happen - but a leadership challenge could occur at some point. They would rather target disabled people and are basically driving their focus towards them, just like Reform do to immigrants, never thought I'd be in danger of leaving Labour but I'm having serious second thoughts about voting them in the next election. Lib Dems for me I think.

Debt is on the increase and the cost of state funded income is increasing as well. Labour have done a lot of good things actually.I don't think Labour are targeting people individually- the problem we have is we're at a loggerheads.. everyone wants more state funding but nobody wants to pay for it. Look at the power of the Pensioners. The reality is even though tax rises are likely needed, they are political suicide, especially in this current climate. So there's not really any easy answer really. This is an issue any goverment is going to face in to and like you say, even if Reform promise the world, the Markets will tank them if they come up with a magic money tree. I think the issue at the moment is Reeves is obviously structured and has red lines and no pragmatism. It's not an easy job, but clearly we are a bit up the shit creek.

Rejoin the single market, as leave promised no one was talking about that anyway, and it was a split decision... , and watch the Boris Bounce on immigration collapse anyway.

If they increased the tax of the richest people in the county by a miniscule amount, it would make a world of difference and really not affect those being taxed at all... But they don't have the balls to do what is right so instead the target those that have the least amount of power.
July 2Jul 2 Wow the chancellor started crying at PMQs today when Badenoch was stating that the PM doesnβt have the strength to sack her.
