Oh my, I didn't know that Je ne sais pas pourquoi came so close to #1!

I Believe in You was certainly handled quite oddly, I wonder why the label didn't want it out physically before the album? Considering that it seems remarkable it spent four weeks in the Top 5!

It was pretty close in all three weeks!

1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya  (58,310)
2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUIO- Kylie Minogue (54,264)

1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya (71,604)
2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUOI- Kylie Minogue (62,067)

1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya (47,617)
2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUIO- Kylie Minogue  (47,175)

'The Locomotion' and 'Wouldn't Change a Thing' had very healthy sales at #2 (highs of 84,830 and 89,896) but found themselves behind much bigger hits: 'The Only Way is Up' by Yazz and 'Swing the Mood' by Jive Bunny.

Ooooh agonisingly close for that 3rd week there!

As for Jive Bunny, I only heard that piece of trash for the first time a few months ago and that was quite enough.

I would LOVE a big Kylie sales update now she’s #1. We’ve not had a top 40 Kylie songs update in years, the OCC are so lazy these days, you hardly ever get sales updates! 😂

Can someone PLEASE update the sales for all the singles and albums it's been a while😝😝

Securing Minogue’s highest sales in a week since Can’t Get You Out Of My Head slipped 1-2 on consumption of 73,027 units in 2001, Xmas also earns Minogue the distinction of being the first female soloist to have No.1 singles in four different decades – the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2020s. It’s clear she should never be written off – this is the third time she has topped the chart after a gap of 10 or more years.

Have they forgotten Love at First Sight sold 80k in its first week or did it not actually sell that much? Come to think of it, I think its sales were worked out from a ratio compared to the #1.

Scratch that, the OCC say it’s her biggest sale since LAFS so it’s just an oversight from MW.

Painfully close!!

1- ORINOCO FLOW (SAIL AWAY)- Enya (47,617)
2- JE NE SAIS PAS POURQUIO- Kylie Minogue  (47,175)

If the fanbase had the access like they do now kylie would have taken number 1 that week against Enya. I never knew it was that close.

Third time?

There was a 10 year gap between Tears On My Pillow and Spinning Around, and then a 22 year gap between Slow and XMAS. What was the other ten year gap?

Guys even tho this isn't technically UK how many records has Kylie sold worldwide until this year? The last time we got an update it was 80 million in 2018 when golden came out

I was thinking that, did they just count three songs? Tears, Spinning and Xmas? And mistakenly wrote it as three ten year gaps.

Was just about to write that 😄

Made a playlist of songs that need more streams to be certified. Mixes count towards the overall totals don’t they?

I think with 'Slow' only just finally being certified silver, that might have some way to go until its next certification. I think the likes of 'Dancing' and 'I Believe In You' probably have an extremely long way to go until their next ones too.

"Dancing" is so under-rated

Ah yeah, Slow was Silver May 25 but it deserves gold & I ruddy love them Chem Bros mix so can't hurt!

I thought Dancing being certed over 5 years ago, it may have been trickling along as it's in her top 20 on Spotify but likewise, it's a banging mix.

Can we crowdfund for an OCC bribe for accurate totals I wonder 🤔 haha
