February 7, 2025Feb 7 Remember Monday seemingly talked about on Radio 1 as the entrant before they've been officially revealed. I mean, it's a genre change which I wanted. It's one of the least adventurous genre changes possible, but it's a genre change.
February 8, 2025Feb 8 They sing really well, and their cover of Fat Bottomed Girls is good. However, their originals sound very ... Fame Academy. Boring, guitar MOR... We have to wait for the song. They said they're working on it together, like they did with Sam Ryder, which is promising .. but they said it was very British, which points to guitar MOR... If they get the song right, it'll be great, but I am expecting boring MOR at this point.
February 8, 2025Feb 8 Author I'd be surprised if it actually is country, I'm definitely feeling it will be more like OG3NE/Wilson Phillips, but will wait and see. I fully expect to like this entry (OG3NE was my favourite entry of 2017 in the end) but for it also not to be competitive.
February 9, 2025Feb 9 If it was country, would that go down well with everyone else? I feel it would end up fading into the background.
February 9, 2025Feb 9 Author There's very little jury bait so far, so whatever it is, if it's something where they can flex their (incredible, going off what I've seen) vocals, then it should get a decent haul of jury points. For televoters, yes, it will inevitably fade into the background unless it's a modern classic (unlikely) because there are already a few televote magnets confirmed and the likes of Sweden/Italy/France to come.
February 9, 2025Feb 9 I’m expecting it to wind up being more folk than country. The songwriter previously wrote Now I Know by Tennessee Tears in Melodifestivalen which I’d say probably falls closer to folk, so I feel like that’s somewhat how it’ll sound.
March 5, 2025Mar 5 Apparently the track is called ‘What The Hell Just Happened’ Edited March 5, 2025Mar 5 by darrens94
March 5, 2025Mar 5 It sounded like it was just about to get interesting as it cut off so I’m intrigued. 👏
March 5, 2025Mar 5 Sounds like it could be more pop-rock which really isn’t au fait or the best genre to do well, however in a weak year we’ll see. I won’t judge fully until the full song is out!
March 6, 2025Mar 6 The entry will be revealed tomorrow at 8:00 GMT Edited March 6, 2025Mar 6 by SimpsonFan
March 6, 2025Mar 6 Author Intriguing entry, I know I'll grow to really enjoy this, it has a very unusual structure and for the UK it's surprisingly not mid. The group will give it their all too vocally and in terms of performance I'm sure. It's quite 'what the hell just happened?' on first listen, so not sure it's going to captivate the televote, but juries you would think will reward it to an extent. It sounds a bit like a song from a musical that's part of moving along a narrative, but not one of the central/hooky/big singalong songs. Quite unusual for Eurovision. Edited March 6, 2025Mar 6 by gooddelta
March 6, 2025Mar 6 If it is that song I found it captivating. Reminds me of 'Biology' in the way it changes direction.Vocally I've heard they are good, so the harmonies should be on point. This makes me optimistic that it will at least do better than Olly/Mae (although I still think Olly deserved better)
March 6, 2025Mar 6 BOP omg. I really can't tell how well it'll do, but I will be bopping either way! It's very early 10's to me though... something I could imagine Karmin following up 'Brokenhearted' with or something EDIT: Also quite The Last Dinner Party by way of a main pop-girlie (ala Sabrina or something)
March 6, 2025Mar 6 Given it another listen and it is stuck in my head. If this doesn't finish top half (at least) I would be surprised.
March 6, 2025Mar 6 The 2nd verse is so, SO good! ("Wear my dress, call my ex...") the flow is so satisfying and itches something in my brain... lol.
March 6, 2025Mar 6 Wow I’m surprised how good this is!! Very wtf, it’s like tinges of Bohemian Rhapsody, a musical finale, Sabrina Carpenter/Chappell Roan vibes and then a bit of The Last Dinner Party vibes I agree It’s like all three of the girls had a different vibe in mind so they just mashed it all together and somehow it worked out.Actually think this could very much go either way, as it’s a bit odd but they have great vocals so I think something that emphasises tight harmonies and their vocals could do very well, I do equally think that Europe at large could just not get it at all. Either way, with both this and Dizzy, I am glad we are going for things that just feel authentic, they’re what that artist would release and they’re something realistically British, not just a boring ballad or something that a panel of random producers thinks Eurovision wants, whether the songs do well or not.
