September 11Sep 11 Not knowing the full context and seeing a “confirmed dead” post first thing gave me such high hopes, but I quickly realised it wasn't Trump, sadly.Still though, I’ll take this garbage dump of a person. Although US will never learn their lessons so it will just be yet another spin about how democrats are afraid to hear the truth, they are violent and how everyone should get even more guns now. So not much will change.
September 11Sep 11 I guess you really do find out if you fvck around. Live by the sword... or in this case the gun.

Killing is never the answer.I also don’t agree with political violence, but the irony is not lost on me with this one.Again, I think it just shows how bent this ideology is. There is more uproar about an ultra conservative being killed the kids being shot at school.
September 11Sep 11 As someone not opposed to the death penalty this doesn't bother me in tbe slightest. We are animals and this is what happens in nature. In a country as heavily armed with military grade weaponry as the US this was always going to happen at some point. The culture practically encourages it.
September 11Sep 11 I’d never even heard of this guy, maybe because I’m not in tik tok. On the news it seems to be a lot of young people commenting. Not sure I ageee with being happy at his death due to the precident it may set for political violence.

For me the participle is the more important issue. Do we allow or turn a blind eye to someone being shot because of their beliefs on either side of the political spectrum. If we are saying that we don't care because his views don't align with ours then we are also condoning by implication the reverse, others can shoot people we agree with if they don't agree. The irony of the gun quote is noted though. It's all emblematic of the fact that increasingly the two sides of the culture war are no longer talking to each other and becoming more entrenched and we have lost the ability to agree to disagree or to play with ideas. The result is that we resort to other methods of dealing with those we don't agree with. As far as I'm aware this guy never advocated physical harm to any other party but I may be wrong.
September 11Sep 11 Personally, I am not at all moved by his death. Nor do I take any joy from it. Although he held many views I find deeply unpleasant, he had a particular gift as a public speaker and was also a skilled debater with no small amount of charisma. Even when I felt he'd lost the argument, it was clear that many others were convinced of his values and believed in what he was saying. For that reason I always considered him a very dangerous individual. I'm just not at all convinced that his death by an assassin's bullet won't make him even more dangerous as a martyr.

There is more uproar about an ultra conservative being killed the kids being shot at school.Don't be daft. There is plenty of anger and uproar at school shootings.Look, he said some very controversial things and was anti trans and to some extent women too. Although many things he said were ironic such as women over 30 were virtually past it and should be married with kids by then. He married his wife when she was 32! Was against abortion but many people are. Good debater though and let others have their say without shouting them down. Many people here had never heard of him.He was considered by the FBI a target and Trump apparently offered him a full Secret Service detail but he flatly refused it. This vile c**t died as a direct result of the rhetoric he spouted, spread and helped mainstream. That one of the worlds foremost gun violence advocates dies at the hands of a bullet is just a delicious slide of irony and schadenfreude. He wanted me stoned to death, I will take great joy in the permanent deplatforming of someone who thinks I deserve to die because of who I love.Don’t dish out what you can’t take

What if the shooter missed and hit someone in the audience? I doubt it gather the same uproar from the MAGA crowd than their precious little podcaster they’re so desperately trying to turn into a martyr
September 11Sep 11 There was a school shooting yesterday in Colorado. Not a single word from republicans about that
September 11Sep 11 Personally I've found it saddening that people I know have been posting RIP messages today, as if a proper tragedy has happened. No mention from them ever about school shootings/children dying in Gaza. The closet Republicans/Conservatives I guess.....The man stood for so many bad things and whilst gun violence should never be the answer, you cannot ignore the irony of him dying by something he fought so vigorously to protect.

Floyd, the victims of gun violence and Palestinians are all human beings too, and this monster cared not one bit for any of them.
