I saw some of that interview, she is out of her uncharismatic mind. To be slyly hinting that you'll be the solution in 2028 after you've been very publicly the face of your own party's destruction, after which you slinked off with your usual vacuity to do a book tour while a fascist destroys your country, shows some real idiocy. Not even the slightest hint of being part a resistance to the destruction that her campaign warned the country about and the Republican winners are right now brutally enacting upon the country. Some cushy interviews with foreign media instead, that'll do. Pathetic.

She was an emergency candidate last year, would have been fine as president, if she had won but if the Democrats show up with her in 2028 it'll be admitting they've learned nothing about why they keep losing to beatable and dislikeable losers.

Not really worth discussing who it will be right now (at least wait until the midterms, come on), certainly some members in the Democratic party are making moves to put themselves in pole position, but I will just say definitively I am quite confident it will not be Harris.

Agree with you Iz. No way will she get the Nomination in '28 but she may stand. They'd be fools to go with her though. A lot on the US political forums that I frequent, think the first female President, if there is ever one, will be Republican anyway. Far too early to say who the '28 nominees will be as you say. Think VP Vance will most likely be the Rep. one unless a Trump son challenges him for it.

On the brink of Zohran Mamdani very likely being elected the next mayor of New York City, thinking back to a conversation some months ago where a certain poster tried to claim that this movement was elitist

Like Bernie says at the start of this video, there's a reason people all over the world are watching this election: Mamdani is a blueprint for how to fight (and ideally govern!) with in-touch politicians who understand the needs of ordinary people and win that way, and hopefully this style can be repeated across the world - you might say Polanski's taken a lot of cues from him.

Modern centrist politicians who end up pretending they're the last bulwark against fascism run such EMPTY campaigns and general appeal in comparison. Compare of course to the actual hysteria from billionaire-funded media that has been put out against him over the last month especially.

Virginia elected the state’s first female governor, also Democrat

New Jersey’s governor race saw another Trump cronie defeated (which I’m so happy about bc I have family who live in NJ)

California passed a proposition allowing a complete congressional map overhaul seeking out to attain more Democrat seats for the upcoming midterm elections next year, which is great bc Newsom has been doing the MOST to stick it to Trump and fight the MAGA clones in his own state

Colorado passed a proposition to increase funding for school lunch and SNAP programs, with higher taxes for high income families as a result

Election Day last night was more or less a huge success and while it might not be all sunshine and rainbows (Texas 😒😒😒) it shows that there is a resistance forming, and while the country is still heavily divided, at least we’re not at an extreme.
