WHAAAAAAAT? Well this is something of a shock. I've flopped in every Buzzjack song contest I've entered so far so I wasn't even expecting a top half finish, let alone win the whole thing :o

The switch up in 'Butterflies & Hurricanes' is pretty incredible though and that piano piece in the middle is just exquisite so I'm glad it got the recognition it deserved.

Fair play then, congrats to Mango! It's probably my least favourite of the singles from Absolution era, but that era Muse is still leaps and bounds ahead of what they are today so it's always nice to be reminded of it. Guillemots still a very respectful position in 2nd and Mykonos in 3rd is fantastic to see too, an old favourite of mine <3 That bottom 2 definitely didn't deserve that though, aww x

 

Very pleased with 6th, an improvement on 10th place with Sally Shapiro last time. Thank you all for the points, hope it was either a new discovery or a re-discovery for some of you :heart:

Wow, I thought I was about to finish 11th for the third anonymous contest in a row, but knocked down to 12th at the very last minute :lol:

Voted. Quite an interesting contest, I think half of my votes I did previously know but it shows the strength of those songs. Made a few good discoveries too and intrigued to find out who sent what.

Delighted my top 2 were the top 2, although shame they weren't the other way around - Sao Paolo is truly magnificent and B&H always been one my favourites by Muse, significantly underrated.

 

I knew 5 of these really well previously, so always difficult to be able to place new vs. classic, but Built To Spill was great, deserved being ranked higher.

I used the Club Bizarre strategy of "when in doubt go DDR adjacent" and I remembered Hitomi having a few anime openings that I could try out, Japan is just really good at the mid song key change/modulation thing :) going into it I knew it wasn't gonna do super well but went into it knowing I was getting a new Bop Idol peak by default :P it was still bottom half so clearly I'm still figuring this contest out but I think this is a good strategy going forward. thanks to everyone who voted for Hitomi! <3

I've always loved that Mercury Rev track - second only in their discography to the sublime 'Goddess On A Highway' :wub: I must check out some more of their stuff at some point though!
