That's an interesting list! From Eva Cassidy & Katie Melua - What a Wonderful World onwards, they're all charity singles. So the last "normal" #1 (without an attachment to charity) to be uncertifi

Very pleased to see 'Slow' finally get passed the Silver mark. Strange it's taken so long, it's much more of a classic than its sales would suggest and doesn't deserve to be a part of this list of #1

They haven't even started announcing the certifications on the BRITs Twitter account. Do you think that they're taking the week off this week?

Hope they actually update the website on time as that'll put my plans for the platinum non top 40 rate in jeopardy...

They've actually posted a certification on there. There must've been a reason why they took 35 minutes to do so.

Can see it going 19 or 20 times Platinum by the time the tour hysteria ends!

That would mean it needs to do another 300k in 2 months, don't know how likely that'll be...

Look out Sgt. Pepper - Oasis are catching up fast on you.

Probably less than 200,000 behind The Beatles. (Pepper is the biggest selling studio album)

Happy to see this platinum! 2nd platinum single from Brat Should see "Von Dutch" become the 3rd in the next year.

MARINA - The Family Jewels

Yes at this going platinum! Her first platinum album - times nicely with her most recently released album. I think Electra Heart musn't be too far off platinum, maybe we'll see that certified in the next year or so as well.

it's actually her third platinum hit from the "BRAT" era. Both "Guess" and "360" went platinum earlier this year.

Ah totally forgot about "Guess"! Might be her first album to get 5 platinum+ songs as "Girl, so confusing" is streaming really well - Lorde's comeback has helped boost the song a bit and it's even managed to get more weeks top 100 on the UK singles chart recently!

Happy to see Glastonbury has helped boost Thank U enough to go gold this week.wub

About time for Don’t Phunk With My Heart. Given it sold over 150k in 2005, it seems a very long time to make up that extra 50k. Just shows what a poor choice of lead single that was.

Edit: just realised DPWMH is gold. Makes more sense now.

When the last Marina album was released a few weeks ago, Family Jewels was on 299,400

Electra Heart is on 205K so might take a looong time or maybe not even get there

Aww I didn't see that. I assumed it might trickle stream fairly well as various songs from it stream well and I think a couple went viral over the last couple years. ("Bubblegum Bitch", "Primadonna", "How to Be a Heartbreaker", "Teen Idle") although I guess the downweighting of the top 2 tracks hurts it.

I just went through the spotify data to estimate how much the album is selling per week via spotify only and it works out as 95 album sales from streams (assuming UK is 5% of spotify total streams, although wouldn't be surprised if a larger % of streams are from the UK). Assuming spotify is 50% of the market and she's streaming similarly elsewhere then the album is likely doing near 200 units per week in the UK from streaming which is just over 10k per year. Will take a decade to get to platinum.
