Pretty sure what's happening in London today is only for the purpose of being racist, I don't believe they're doing it for good intentions.

An old colleague of mine who not two years ago was absolutely fine and fairly “woke” and tolerant even has become an absolute Reform lunatic and whilst that’s just anecdotal, it’s scary that people who are a bit thick can get sucked into this lunacy so easily. I think that’s why it’s spreading like wildfire.

Even so every single person there is a racist idiot who would struggle to lay claim to even one brain cell. They've all gone silent about Charlie Kirk, for example, since it transpired that they couldn’t blame anyone LGBTQ or a migrant.

I think social media plays a big part. Not all of it, but a large part because of how easy it can be to spread this stuff. It wasn't quite so easy 20 years ago.

I think my favourite video I've seen so far is when some of the people partaking decided to have some multi-cultural food.

I was in Central London for a orchestral show today and the atmosphere was disturbing (I wasn't anywhere near the main sites for the protest, but did see the odd person with a flag around, remarkably low considering) seeing all the police officers around and roads closed.

You only have to look at the list of guests - Katie Hopkins, Steve Bannon and Elon Musk via telecom - to look that there's no uniting going on here despite the name, ironically, it's clearly trying to make us more like America. As many as 100,000 showing support for a racist criminal is incredibly disheartening.

It’s because he’s a con man. The movement is full of grifters. Half of them don’t even believe a word of what they say, they just know it’s their way to money and/or power.

Any one with a few ounces of charisma, an engaging way of communicating, and who can convince the listener that they have all the answers (as well obviously as the ethical and moral convictions of a sociopath) could lead this movement.

Precisely why they’re so dangerous, when people are as thick as these Reform voters, they will easily fall for anyone with a bit of charisma and the right buzzwords who is ostensibly “like them”, all these performative grifters who pretend to be normal working class people so these idiots will blindly follow them like a religion and line their pockets.

I was also in London this evening. Lots of people draped in flags at Waterloo Station and in the nearby bars. For the first time in my life, I was nervous when I left the (Suede) gig that there would be a lot of seriously tanked-up thugs between the Festival Hall and the station. Fortunately, many of the bars had already closed (even though it was only just past 22:00) which meant there weren't many of them about.

On a sidenote, the Farage Clacton house story

Kind of funny that if in fact after he was elected there he did not in fact buy a house there himself but encouraged his French girlfriend to instead, that would mean that...

One of the first things he did after being elected to Clacton was enable the selling of a house that local people could have moved into, to a foreigner from the EU.

I think pretending a crowd of 100k people at yesterdays March are all racists and fascists would be a mistake on the lefts part. There were many racists but there were some who are not. It’s possible there’s a middle ground between racism and wokism, we are all a bundle of contradictions are we not? In order to defeat this populist right you need to understand and outmanoeuvre them and not just dismiss their concerns. Most believe the government or two governing parties don’t listen to them and corruption within Labour of the last two weeks will cement this thought and this is how we end up with Farage in no10.

Whether they consider themselves racists and fascists or not, it doesn’t matter. If they went to the rally, they were endorsing its message and the behaviour. They know who Tommy Robinson is. They heard the words Elon Musk said. They’re complicit.

‘I just want to be proud of my country’. Bullshit. You can show pride in your country in so many other ways than going to London, draped in a flag, drinking and keep company with people who are fighting the police and shouting abuse at non white people. Unless all of these non racists you claim were there were actually challenging the far right men causing trouble, then what was the point?

I don’t like how being woke is now being seen as an extremist view akin to racism. Like woke people need to somehow compromise their principles of treating all people equally? You can’t find a middle ground with racists. Being woke is just being a decent person with a social conscience. Being racist is being hateful to anyone that doesn’t fit your image.
