March 21, 20251 yr He's got 2 miles to go now. Seems to be going at quite a good pace considering how many miles he's done this week

There's no incentive for the OCC to do it, and it obviously rates well enough for the BBC to keep it on the schedule 99% of the time.I'm frustrated about how this week's being handled but I don't think any other station would remain as committed to the chart as Radio 1 do."Committed" is an overstatement. But yes, I take your point overall. It is what it is and I guess we should count ourselves lucky that we get to listen to Lose Control multiple times every month on a Friday afternoon as @Julian_ points out!

No one has asked me if they remember the charts being on Fridays but lots of people have asked me if I remember the charts being on Sundays and besides, Sundays are better and they had more listeners when it was on Sundays

The final week of the year often gets skipped but only in favour of the Chart of the Year, and an event like today is a rarity. They normally work around stuff like Glastonbury so we still get a chart show. Not to mention we get a First Look chart show almost every week too - that's definitely committed in my eyes, not that it's all 100% perfect.

March 21, 20251 yr I'd guess they'll interview him and reveal how much he raised before doing anything chart-related. We might get top 10 but will assume we get nothing like last time
March 21, 20251 yr Would be great if Radio 1 could pledge their allegiance to broadcasting the chart.
