I’m a bit sad the new Great Grandpa album, Patience Moonbeam, is nowhere to be seen. I know they’re not well known in the UK but it’s really lovely country inflected indie pop, closest comparison I can think of it maybe Big Thief but a bit more melodic. This is my favourite, but the whole album is worth a listen!

I'm surprised The Darkness went against Mumfords,

they could have picked any other week and would have been easier

sure Doves or The Lottery Winners were less competition than Mumford & Sons...

Agreed but at the same time it does seem very fishy that the announced they were cancelling after learning they were 2 and had no chance of reaching number 1. They are still doing the tour dates..

Yeah like that's still a comfortable number 2 but number 1 is unattainable so suddenly stop trying 🤔

I mean, Justin Hawkins has always been a 24-carat bell end so it's not exactly out of character.

Justin is a completely different person now than he was in the early 2000s tbf. He hit rock bottom and changed his life around completely, and has now been sober for 18 years.

He was on mental health podcast 'How Do You Cope?' with John Robins recently which was a very interesting listen.

Another significant gap between #1 and #2 this week.
