We spend our time moaning about labels not doing enough to get the best chart positions for certain artists and Ed is literally the king of securing the BEST possible chart position he can with all hi

Nope the audio streaming charts do not have ACR (and also do not have free/premium weighting), it's how we're able to work out estimates for the YTD chart. Even looking at the singles chart with Noah

7 Lorde - What Was That

First time I'm hearing this, I love her previous stuff, this sounds like a grower, I can't see getting higher though.

The top 10 looks a bit fresh at the moment, but I can see Benson, Tate, Sabrina going back up later in the week,

Hoping Lorde will be safe for a top 10 debut now - presuming she'll overtake Sleep Token and obvz Oasis (was confused as to how Sleep Token are ahead at the moment but I see they did well on iTunes x). Would be following in the footsteps of Hozier in getting a second top 10 hit around a decade after the first, although an even longer gap in this case!

Some Might Say looking pretty good for top 40 then if it's top 2 today. It'll be doing better on streaming than Whatever

'Some Might Say' wub

A good start, hopefully #2 at this stage will be enough for them to stay top 40 for the remainder of the week like 'Whatever'.

Official Charts Report

Oasis’ seminal 1995 Number 1 single Some Might Say could land back in the chart this week – at Number 2 on the Official Chart: First Look – following the release of a 30th anniversary vinyl reissue.

Meanwhile, Alex Warren’s Ordinary is heading for a seventh consecutive week at Number 1.

The impressive rise of Sleep Token on the Official Singles Chart continues as Damocles eyes up a Top 10 debut at Number 6. It will mark the group’s third Top 20 and second Top 10 single if it holds on.

Lorde is back with What Was That (7) which could become her fifth Top 40 single and second Top 10.

Finally, Benson Boone’s latest offering Mystical Magical eyes up a Number 10 debut after 48 hours.

The Official Chart: First Look offers a first glance of the Top 20 ahead of Friday’s Official Singles Chart Top 100. The chart is based on preliminary sales and early streaming reports.

I hope Steve’s Lava Chicken doesn’t get lumbered with a #11 peak. It probably will due to Minecraft slowly declining in the cinemas now the school holidays will be over on Tuesday
