We spend our time moaning about labels not doing enough to get the best chart positions for certain artists and Ed is literally the king of securing the BEST possible chart position he can with all hi

Nope the audio streaming charts do not have ACR (and also do not have free/premium weighting), it's how we're able to work out estimates for the YTD chart. Even looking at the singles chart with Noah

People who know how these things work — how likely is it for Lorde to stay in the top 20?

I think she'd have to fall off very drastically to miss the top 20, I'd say she even stands a chance of remaining top 10 if she can stabilise on Spotify in the coming days, especially considering Oasis and Sleep Token are all but guaranteed to fall behind.

How much does this latest Oasis re-issue cost? £36 million? Fun when this stuff happens but guessing low 30s by Friday if in the Top 40 at all. But could be proved wrong and in need of some educa-shee-en in the raaaaaaain.

What you mean 36 million?

Maybe a vinyl maybe costs 1% of that

Gosh! Where do you shop?

1% of £36million is still £360,000!

Oh thought they meant the cost of actually making the vinyls in the factory lol :D not in the shops

Clearly the OP was just exaggerating for effect at the price of Oasis re-issues - something I thought you of all people would have picked up on 🤣

Yes I was.

Turns out it's "only" £13.99 (plus P+P). What a bargain. I remember when 7" singles were looked down on so much they were 99p if they even bothered making them at all. Noel's bank account must be bursting at the seams right now.

I don't really see the point in physical music anymore as do pretty much all my listening via my phone but each to their own.

Yeah £13.99 plus P+P is daylight robbery for a 7" single. I know it looks pretty and everything but I cannot fathom why anyone would pay that!

Don't think I'll ever get it, especially in a cost of living crisis. Imagine all the other things you can do with £14! The only physical music I've been buying over recent years has been the Now Yearbooks and even then I've just been playing them once then leaving them on the shelf. I seem to have completely forgotten what the point in physical music is, just got too used to streaming.

I imagine a fair few of these re-issues have been sold on for a profit pretty quickly.

I actually think the Whatever single from a few weeks ago was much more expensive

I bought the Taylor-Fortnight 7” the other day and was nearly 30 euros on RSD. the Oasis Time Flies vinyl for RSD was also Like 100 euros so I passed on that one.

The prices of vinyl singles are a bit abusive lately

Dunno as you said cost of living crisis probably can't get much at all for £14 😬🫣

Usually fans and collectors that will buy and store in a box rarely to be seen again 😅

Oh wow an insane number of new releases starting off in the top 10 this week!!

Hope the Phonics have a good lead to stay at the top. They will be the second Welsh band to have a Number 1 album in the last month if they make it following Those Damn Crows a few weeks ago.

Surprised to see the Phonics ahead of Ghost actually- assumed the latter's fanbase was bigger!
