May 2, 2025May 2 Yeah, 2 weeks always seems a bit harsh. Was it something he said? Gotta admit I've not been listening to much R1 recently, I still hear everything on the playlist cos I Spotify it but am I missing much content-wise? I used to be glued to it but that seemed to stop when Scott left. Also Matt and Jerry have sounded fun together when I have tuned in but kind of want Mollie back so I hope that's not far off. And I'm never up early enough for Greg because rubbish things going on in my life that mean I'm not much of a morning person right now. Only new addition I'm massively excited about this week is MOLIY but haven't the rest much yet. Good to see The Wombats still on and that's two consecutive Ed Sheeran songs I don't mind, which must be some sort of record for me*. Surprised Lola and Ely are gone already!Actually no Bad Habits and Shivers were fine compared to most of the 2010s ones, which kind of tortured me.Do we think there'll be another Big Weekend overhaul in a few weeks with R1 Anthems stars Sugababes and Natasha Bedingfield making a surprise return to the playlist? May 3, 2025May 3 Based off the last two years, there will be a Big Weekend playlist in two weeks time. I expect Tom Grennan and maybe JADE to survive next week and then get an extra two weeks of A-list support through the Big Weekend playlist.

May 4, 2025May 4 Surprised to see Alex, Doechii, Ely and Sonny all dumped already.It must nark them a little that they are obliged to keep Jade and Tom on the A List for weeks on end just because they are on Big Weekend and yet both songs haven't done that well commercially.

I get it but it still reeks of being fake when they playlist someone they wouldn't ordinarily just because they're playing the Big Weekend.
May 4, 2025May 4 So Radio 1 awarded Sound Of 2025 to an artist who already had multiple huge hits, skip new entries on the chart show in favour of old familiar stuff, and keep artists on the playlist only because of Big Weekend - so much for in new music we trust!
