Come on Louise!!

Really hope she can keep that top 10 somehow, although I'm imagining her ending up at #13 or so.

Im thinking the same but a top 10 would be lovely.

I cant see anyone but Sabrina been number 1 on Friday now with how the sales are looking.

Come on Louise!! I really want her new album, Confessions, to go Top 10. It’s a really great pop album and people need to check it out!

  • Damn. I was wondering what #1 would be

  • If I were an artist I’d rather be fair to my fans than do things like that just for a few higher places on the chart. If it was for #1 then maybe

Pleased that Louise is holding strong - the iTunes version has been reduced to £4.99, they should drop the CD price on Amazon too to snatch a few extra last minute sales.

Louise should just do a bit of a flash sale discount on her entire store tomorrow until 12pm or whenever the shipping cut off is.

Most items are pretty limited so would make sense for one last big push to sell everything out.

Would be cool if Sparks can hang onto the #1 album - iirc the record for longest time between an artist's first studio album and their first #1 studio album is currently held by The Specials (1979-2019), unless that was broken again since then by someone I'm forgetting, Sparks would be smashing that by more than a decade! I'm still assuming Sabrina will probably sneak ahead but she only closed the gap marginally today so if Sparks can find a few more fake cassettes etc. xx

(having said this I've tried to find where I vaguely remember reading that The Specials broke that record and I can't find it so I might be making that up entirely)

Wouldn't that just be very annoying for her fans who paid full price up front?

Yeah but it’s no different to the fans who purchased the iTunes download at full price and it’s now £4.99 or people who purchased the standard digital album and now get the deluxe or extended for just £4.99.

Which isn't particularly fair on them either.

I don't think I would pre-order any album these days, or buy it on release day, when you can just stream it for a few days and then buy it when they cut the price.

Happy to see Linkin Park's latest album remaining top 100 on the Tuesday update. With the deluxe edition adding 3 new tracks boosting its streaming a bit ("Up From The Bottom" has been in their top 10 most popular tracks on spotify since release), it looks like it may stick around the top 100 for a little bit. Hoping it'll climb come Friday as a lot of the newer entries fall away.

Part of reason I dont buy albums anymore or at least till they been out a while, annoys me when they release just to release a deluxe not even hours later for some

You preorder and then they drop the price on release week another thing I hate

As well as Louise - Cardinal Black, Skunk Anansie and Sparks digital albums are also £4.99 - are they price cuts too? I'd be surprised if her physicals get discounted this late into the week but we'll see!

I agree it’s not fair and shouldn't happen but it’s been happening for years now pretty much weekly with a lot of artists who don’t get the streaming numbers especially.

It used to annoy me and I have been refunded the difference on occasion but personally I’ve just accepted this is just what happens these days so I pre-order being happy with the price or make a decision to wait to see if they reduce the price.

Looks like reductions won’t happen anyway as they’ve added a continuous mix version for £4.99 now making it 5 new digital versions available.

hope Sparks can do it, they just need 2K more

cos Sabrina was on 10K last week

what surprises me is how other acts don't look at the release schedule

and see how weak some weeks are and pick those date to release

but instead they release in much competitive weeks

Darkness were #2 with 28K, Ghost #2 with 26K, James Arthur #3 with 15K, even Self Esteem #5 with 12K

Which is why going into HMV now once a year to buy my fav album of the year on vinyl is such a harrowing experience when the vinyls are all 40 quid?!

but then it means you don't care about variants or collecting rarities, which all collectors I know do care about

the limited variants last 5 seconds and are sold out immediately in most cases

whats left in stores are ugly variants no one cares about :)

It is possible to want an album and like an artist without purchasing 72 variants that you'll likely keep in the cupboard collecting dust you know 😅

Last week Sabrina was 6,234 at this stage now 5,752 so about 500 less with lower estimates on Thursday probably 1k less so they only need 1k more really

I don’t know what variants they are they are just vinyls to me but very expensive ones.
