Its Tuesday streams are down, but every other day this week was up on last week - in total it is 28k (1.1%) ahead over Fri-Tue. Last Wednesday's streams were 504k so it could still be in deficit if today's aren't close to that.

Also to add we don't know what it's been doing elsewhere where it's been remaining strong at #1 (Amazon/Apple).

Nice to see "Illegal" going viral. It's remained in the top 100 since debuting at #48 5 weeks ago. Would be great to see it get a new peak somewhere in the top 40!

179 sales up from last week on the mids probably will beat ACR by 0.40% or something.

Random thought has a song ever hot acr and stayed number 1,

I know if Alex does (he probably wont) that a few are doing more than half his

Despacito definitely did! Plus the old Christmas songs

So essentially despactio Mariah and wham are the only 3 cases

Always forget christmas 🫣😂

So other than very rare occasions acr does what its supposed to essentially, just some songs are better at evading it than others 😅

Yes exactly, Despacito is the only example of a regular hit that hit ACR and stayed at #1, although I think Bad Habits was close.

There may be other examples of stuff that got close too which I can’t remember, so I’m sure someone will add to that list

Those mentioned are the only ones to be at #1 on ACR so far. 'Despacito' actually dropped to #2 the week it went to ACR, but then returned to #1 on ACR for 2 weeks. 'Blinding Lights' was a non-mover at #2 in the week it first went to ACR as it had a boost from the album release, but it was then reset to SCR (this is when automatic resets had a week's delay) and returned to #1 the following week.

On whether ACR is doing what it is supposed to, I would say removing the most consumed song from #1 prematurely is not what it should be for - it should be for songs which have already peaked to speed up their descent and give space to fresher hits. Unfortunately, it's often songs doing big numbers at the top that are more prone to falling to ACR early, as their numbers are so high they have to come down, whereas the songs which have been around so long their rates of attrition have become minimal are the ones that end up avoiding with every bank holiday or show of warm weather that affects the whole market.

Worth noting that “Despacito” was doing more than 20k pure sales per week when it was #1 on ACR, which still counted in full. So it was a completely different ball game as now almost everything is halved.

Disco Lines & Tinashe up to a new peak of #49 on Spotify!

Dior now #2 on YouTube and streamer speed makes an entrance

Over on the Big Top 40, Ordinary has NEVER been No.1, stalling at No.2 so far.

But there has been three Ed Sheeran No.1s in the meantime (amongst others)

Which would you choose?

Looking at their chart here is their #1’s this year

Apt - 5 weeks

Anxiety - 3 weeks

Blessings - 4 weeks

Ed Sheeran - 7 weeks

Lady Gaga - 3 weeks

Messy - 2 weeks

Think the official charts has had better #1’s

Although I prefer the Official Charts, the Big Top 40 has had better #1s, in my opinion

The only official number one I think is worse than a 5/10 this year is That's So True and the only Big Top 40 one I think is better than a 5/10 is Blessings 😂- shame we can't have the turnover of the Big Top 40 and the quality of the Official Chart at the same time

This is like choosing between having your toenails individually pulled out or being waterboarded.

Also yes. That's So True, Not Like Us and 12 weeks of Ordinary in comparison. I really don't think so... puke
