Talk Talk - Talk Talk

The Human League - Mirror Man

Yazoo - The Other Side Of Love

A Flock Of Seagulls - Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)

Blancmange - Living On The Ceiling

Malcolm McLaren And The World's Famous Supreme Team - Buffalo Gals

The Maisonettes - Heartache Avenue

Duran Duran - Rio

Marvyn Gaye - (Sexual) Healing

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

Renee And Renato - Save Your Love

Talk Talk a great dancey synthpop tune, Yazoo catchy tune and Mirror Man one of Human League's best!

Flock of Seagulls ahead of their time too, sounds more mid or late 80s.

Blancmange with the dance beats ahead of time too and Indian influences perhaps inspired by Monsoon - Ever So Lonely.

I don't dislike Save Your Love its a good link back to the early 1950s charts when dodgy operatic songs like this were popular (eg. David Whitfield).

Ok let me get back to voting in a more timely manner x

Clannad - Theme From Harry's Game

Duran Duran - Rio

A Flock Of Seagulls - Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)

Incantation - Cacharpaya (Andes Pumpsá Dèsi)

Talk Talk - Talk Talk

Incantation comfortably the best discovery of the week, how intriguing that was a top 40 hit! Knew the Clannad song well but good to be able to put a name to it rather than it just being 'that one new age song that I heard loads as a kid and would recognise if I heard it again'. And the Talk Talk song was a BuzzJack discovery but a few years ago via TheSnake sending it to BJSC. Next best discoveries were Simple Minds and Japan, next best I already knew were Madness, Marvin Gaye and Bing Crosby/David Bowie. A better week on the whole than last week, playlisted 20 songs this time.

Will throw a bone to ABBA for the tiebreak, if only because I prefer the cover of 'Mad World' to the original.

Blancmange - Living On The Ceiling

A Flock Of Seagulls - Wishing (If I Had A Photograph Of You)

Ultravox - Hymn

Malcolm McLaren And The World's Famous Supreme Team - Buffalo Gals

The Human League - Mirror Man

Tie-break : The Day Before You Came

The 5 best:

Marvin Gaye - (Sexual) Healing

Whitesnake - Here I Go Again

Worst:

5 for the night:

'The Day Before You Came' joins 'Vienna' and 'Once In A Lifetime' in picking up double figure votes in its original poll and still not winning, so those three songs may have another chance if there is a poll of polls to follow these one day. For now, I'll allow Julian to catch up with the last few batches of reviews for the songs in 1982, and we'll hopefully be back to launch into 1983 in the not too distant future!

For whom it may concern, the original version of Yoko Ono's 'Walking On Thin Ice' is finally on Spotify! (happened to spot a post about it on Reddit the other day so I've belatedly added it to my own playlist, back down to only 4 songs that I thought were playlist worthy but which are not on Spotify x)

Do we have any idea when this will be resuming yet? jump I can't remember what we said on SyncTube and I don't think it's been posted in the thread x

This Sunday's session brings us to the end of 1982, and as I'd have needed to take a break in the series soon anyway, this will be the last session for a couple of months.

So it will be in April, pending the last few of Julian's reviews for 1982.

Presumably the earliest we’d resume is the week after Easter so 12th April? I’m happy to take Easter as a target deadline to finish 1982.

Had I voted it would have been even more draws as Abba beats Mad World, just, and Blancmange gets my vote and A Flock O Seagulls not top 5 for me. Phew!

Is this happening this weekend?
