Oasis, The Rolling Stones, Sam Smith and Justin Bieber - who had the best set of eight #1 hits each?

I'd go for:

  1. Sam Smith

  2. Oasis

  3. Bieber

  4. Rolling Stones

  5. Bieber

  6. Rolling Stones

  7. Sam Smith

  8. Oasis

which, erm, doesn't quite narrow it down to a winner - they all had a fair share of good and passable lol

I’ve always really liked The Last Time……and I’m giving bonus points for the sample of the Andrew Oldham Orchestra version used in Bittersweet Symphony!

  • OASIS x8

1 Oasis

2 Justin

3 Stones

4 Stones

5 Sam

6 Stones

7 Stones

8 Stones

Unfortunately for the others the Stones' number ones are amongst my favourite songs ever!

1SS

2O

3SS

4RS

5SS

6JB

7JB

8RS

3 SS, 2JB, 2RS 1O

Can't tell if its because im not really a fan of the others or Sam Smith wins here because they did actually released decent stuff [before they lost the plot]

  1. Oasis wub

  2. Oasis

  3. Stones (with Justin not far off)

  4. Stones

  5. not keen on any of these - Stones by default

  6. better all round (Sam aside) and the Bieber-less 'Despacito' would have won, but Oasis

  7. Stones (the best Sam #1 but still way off)

  8. Oasis

Voted for:

Oasis - Some Might Say

Oasis - Don't Look Back In Anger

Oasis - D'You Know What I Mean?

Rolling Stones - (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction

Oasis - Go Let It Out

Rolling Stones - Paint It Black

Rolling Stones - Jumping Jack Flash

Oasis - The Importance of Being Idle

😅

All mine are Stones and Oasis apart from ‘Unholy’ which I still love by Sam!

Oasis first 2, then the Stones for all the others

Voted for the Stones for 4-6 and Oasis for the rest - most of these were quite easy choices but 'Get Off Of My Cloud' / 'Go Let It Out' / 'I'm The One' were all fairly close and Sam was close-ish for the last 2 as well.

Justin Bieber (What Do You Mean) ('Some Might Say' might be my favourite Oasis song though)

Justin Bieber (Sorry)

Oasis (D'You Know What I Mean?)

Justin Bieber (Cold Water)

Oasis (Go Let It Out)

Rolling Stones (Paint It, Black)

Sam Smith (Promises)

Oasis (The Importance of Being Idle)

Balanced!

1 & 2 Oasis, rest Rollings... very poor list except the 2 Oasis first #1s

I had to give most of those Stones songs a relisten as couldn't remember them from name alone, most of their best stuff clearly didn't make #1!

Some Might Say

Don't Look Back In Anger

Love Yourself (very weak group this one)

Cold Water

Go Let It Out (even weaker group this one)

Paint It Black

I Don't Care

Unholy

so 3x Oasis, 3x Bieber, 1x Stones, 1x Sam (same as Jessie Where but with different songs)

Poor Little Red Rooster being the only song with zero votes.

Yeah, first two are Oasis, then it's the Stones all the way

if 'Paint It Black' was in the same group as 'Lyla' I would have swapped one of my Oasis votes for the Rolling Stones.

Poor Bieber though, not winning with any of his songs, even Sam Smith has the lead in one group!

Great to see the 3 best songs here all winning by miles - “Don’t Look Back In Anger”, “Satisfaction” and “Paint It, Black”.

Agree Group 3 is quite meh all round - interesting to see such an even 4 way split.
